Bonjour from the City of Lights, darlings! This week, yours truly is pirouetting through Paris, a tutu-filled wonderland thatās been positively intoxicating! The streets, the cafĆ©s, the shops - everything screams "French Chic" and honestly, my pink heart just can't cope!
Now, I've mentioned it before, but just because this weekās adventure is tinged with Parisian elegance doesnāt mean itās all grand balls and soirĆ©es. As always, we're going to be experiencing this glorious city through the eyes of a pink-loving ballerina - tutu-fied and ready to go!
Iāve made this magical journey aboard the EuroStar, that chic and glamorous way to get to Paris. With all the glitter and excitement, Iāve always loved the feel of the sleek trains whizzing through the countryside. The only thing that could have made it more magical? Well, itās probably obvious: A troupe of pink-tutu clad ballerinas doing impromptu choreographed performances in the carriages, of course! Think I might need to put that on my āto doā list⦠for the future!
I do think itās a brilliant idea, a full on tutu flashmob performance in the middle of Eurostar, if I do say so myself, as I just know that Iām not alone when it comes to loving these magical creations. They're a little bit whimsical, a lot bit glamorous, and all together perfectly expressive. But this is what my mission is all about ā to help the world realise just how incredible a pink tutu can be!
But first, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. I arrived on a lovely February day, feeling as fresh as a ballet slipper in a spring breeze! You can bet my itinerary is jam-packed. And before you ask, no, my gorgeous tutus didn't stay in Derbyshire ā they were with me every step of the way!
Saturday's Adventures:
First things first, breakfast at a charming little cafe with croissants that are light as air, and oh-so delicious! If you've never tasted a real French croissant, you just haven't lived. Let's be honest, Iāve been to France many times but Iām pretty sure a good croissant is my number one favourite thing in the entire country. It doesnāt matter if Iāve already eaten, a good croissant is an absolute must.
Once Iād filled up on carbs and French goodness, I found myself dancing down the cobbled streets of Montmartre, soaking in the vibrant art scene. Every corner had a different vibe - some charming, others gritty, but all equally enchanting. Montmartre is truly a feast for the senses. Itās so inspiring and uplifting, it feels like itās filled with creatives - people just looking to embrace something a little different. There are so many independent shops selling artisan jewellery, artwork, unique fashions - I think I could spend a whole week just here. But I digressā¦
Speaking of senses, can we talk about the sheer perfume of this city? Itās intoxicating! The mixture of bread, cheese, pastries and just that indefinable French smell⦠itās just delicious. Honestly, it's like being in a fragrant, floral dream! You know I had to find some perfumeries and stock up on some lovely Parisian scent⦠my favourite one, that one from a quaint little shop hidden down a cobbled street, smells like roses and bergamot - just divine!
My afternoon was spent wandering through the streets of Le Marais, this time a shopping spree, not for tutus mind you - although Iād already considered it, what a fabulous sight that would be - pink tutus all down the Marais! - but for lovely designer dresses. My shopping bag, filled with delicate silks and intricate lace, was positively overflowing! Oh the fashion and the fun weāve had here in Paris⦠a little bit of āmeā time.
This was the day my trip got even better: I had the absolute joy of attending a ballet performance at the OpĆ©ra Garnier, one of Parisās most iconic landmarks. A classic show with beautiful dancing and powerful choreography. Even better, my favorite ballerina from the Paris Opera Ballet, Madame Dubois, was a lead, sheās so exquisite! Sheās just wonderful! There was even a live orchestra, so glorious. They even let me try on one of the dancersā costumes after the performance ā it felt like stepping right out of a storybook. Iām not going to lie, I had my photo taken with a ballet costume in my arms - itās definitely a "dream come true" moment and I know it was a really good Instagram shot, donāt judge!
My final adventure was dinner with some other fellow pink tutu lovers Iāve met in Paris - an exclusive gathering, just a handful of us. We chatted over delicious French cuisine, talking about life, ballet and of course, how amazing pink tutus really are! There are just some things that only fellow tutu lovers truly understand, wouldnāt you say? They know that a pink tutu can be anything: elegant, empowering, whimsical⦠Itās a symbol of self-expression and, dare I say, sheer happiness.
And as we finished dinner with a delicate piece of chocolate cake, it hit me, Paris has got to be one of the most beautiful and romantic cities on earth. Honestly, I love that the whole place is brimming with elegance and creativity ā two things I am passionate about. Paris was just made for dancing! And perhaps⦠that is why it feels so special.
What to expect in the coming days?
Letās just say Iām going to be making sure you, my wonderful readers, can get a peek behind the scenes. You can expect some exclusive glimpses into the world of French fashion, with special tours, events, and maybe even some surprises from your favourite pink tutu blogger. This city just screams āinspiring,ā so you can bet Iām taking plenty of notes. I might even inspire a new style in my upcoming dance pieces ā perhaps a ballet called, āParis Pink,ā I haven't quite decided on the name yet.
But most importantly, don't forget to embrace the joie de vivre and the pink tutus wherever you may be, darlings. Iām going to bring back my favourite stories and hopefully some more amazing pink tutu style! Donāt miss my next post next week, itāll be a full on French extravaganza. In the meantime, do share your own experiences! What's your favourite place to get a croissant? And have you seen any fabulous tutus out and about?
Until then, stay rosy!

P.S. Did you know? In the 18th century, Parisian women made and wore pink tutus as fashion statements. How amazing! A touch of French elegance from a long, long time ago⦠Perhaps our pink tutu obsession isnāt as new as we thought!
