Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #1002)
Hello darlings! It's Emma, your resident pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger, and I'm thrilled to announce that I've finally made it to the City of Lights! Paris has been a dream destination for as long as I can remember, and stepping off the EuroStar into Gare du Nord this morning was truly magical.
You might be wondering how this little ballerina from Derbyshire ended up in the French capital. Well, after another successful run of "The Nutcracker" at the Derby Theatre (thanks to everyone who came!), I managed to save enough to make my Paris dream a reality. Plus, as you all know, a pink tutu just doesn't get enough Parisian outings. It's practically criminal!
Today was all about settling in, exploring my lovely little hotel (it even has a ballet-themed wallpaper, can you believe it?!), and soaking up the Parisian atmosphere. Of course, I couldn't resist slipping into my trusty pink tutu for a little photo op in front of the Eiffel Tower. It was so surreal seeing it in person for the first time, even more so in my beloved tutu!
Speaking of Parisian fashion, oh my, the style here is out of this world! I saw the most fabulous vintage dress in a little boutique earlier, a beautiful dusty rose hue with intricate lace detailing. Naturally, I had to try it on and snap a few selfies. Sadly, it was just a bit too grand for my travel wardrobe, but it definitely inspired a few outfit ideas for my trip.
*What’s Happening Today in Paris: *
- Today’s events included a spectacular street performance at Place des Vosges featuring acrobatic dancers and musicians, followed by a charming performance of 'Giselle' at the Théâtre de l'Opéra Garnier. Paris certainly knows how to combine beauty and elegance with its art. I particularly loved the way the lighting worked on the dancers and costumes at Garnier - it was magical!
*A Look at My Wardrobe: *
- My go-to outfit for today’s adventures was, naturally, a pink tutu! But I added a few Parisian touches for a touch of chic - a white Breton top tucked in, a blush pink cashmere cardigan for a bit of warmth (Paris can get a bit chilly even in spring), and a pair of delicate ballerina flats to match the tutus's shimmer. My trusty vintage Louis Vuitton bag was perfect for carrying all my essentials, and of course, my travel size lavender-scented hand cream.
Tomorrow’s Plans:
- Tomorrow, I'm off to explore the famous Galeries Lafayette department store - they have a dedicated children’s wear section where you’ll find every colour imaginable, even tutus!
- Then I'm heading to Montmartre to check out the artistic heart of Paris. There are always amazing things to discover around Sacré-Coeur, like art galleries and charming cafes.
- If time permits, I'd love to catch a traditional French ballet performance at the Paris Opera, just to see a new interpretation of one of my favourite ballets!
Don’t Forget…:
- Don't forget to visit my website www.pink-tutu.com, I update it every Saturday with the latest adventures from the Parisian streets!
- Remember, the aim is to get everyone in a pink tutu – even in Paris, the pink tutu must conquer!
So, that's all for today, darlings. I'm off to find the best macarons in Paris - it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!
See you next Saturday for more Parisian pink tutu adventures!
Au revoir,
Emma
