Bonjour from Paris! - Post #1004
Bonjour my darling readers! It's Emma, your favourite tutu-clad traveller, and guess what? I'm in Paris!
Oh, my heart is absolutely bursting with joy and I can't wait to share my Parisian adventures with you all.
For the first time ever, I decided to take the EuroStar. Now, I've always been a bit of a train lover - the rhythmic clickety-clack of the tracks, the anticipation of arriving at a new destination, it all just calls to my inner child. And the EuroStar didn't disappoint!
It was a seamless journey through the Channel Tunnel - I even had a little window seat where I could watch the world speed by. My mind was a whirl with excitement for the City of Lights and the possibilities it held.
Paris has been calling to me for ages - it's such a glamorous and iconic city with all those beautiful buildings, chic Parisian cafes and, of course, the legendary ballet!
A Ballet Wonderland
Speaking of ballet, that's what my trip's all about. I've already snagged tickets for three shows this week:
Le Sacre du Printemps at the Opéra Garnier. You can't visit Paris without seeing something at the Opéra Garnier, and Stravinsky's masterpiece is a must!
Romeo and Juliet at the Théâtre du Châtelet. Romeo and Juliet, a timeless ballet with so much emotion and passion.
A mixed bill by the Paris Opera Ballet at the Palais Garnier. I’m so excited to see what's on the programme.
I'll definitely share my thoughts and impressions of each performance with you in future posts, but oh, let me tell you, I’m practically hopping with excitement!
My Pink Tutu's Paris Debut
Paris is an incredibly stylish city, so I’ve made sure I brought along some of my very favourite pieces. My sparkly pink tutu will of course be making an appearance, along with some new French fashion finds.
The shopping here is sensational. I’ve already been to some exquisite boutiques around the Marais district and I managed to find a stunning pair of ruby red heels to complete my look. I'll be posting about those with photos later on.
Finding my Parisian Groove
This weekend, I spent a lot of time just getting a feel for the city and soaking in the Parisian atmosphere.
I took a walk along the Seine and the river was so picturesque. I went down to the Ile de la Cité and got a photo with Notre Dame (and no, not that one, the big one!), I wandered around the Tuileries Garden, and even had some macarons (which were as perfect as you would expect)!
Ballet Street Style
Paris is like a giant stage - everyone looks like they're part of a performance! It’s all so glamorous and the sense of artistry is everywhere. I think you can actually feel the ballet in the air.
The girls are so effortlessly chic - sleek hairstyles, elegant jackets, chic ankle boots… and oh my, the shoes! They are incredible! My tutu even felt a bit intimidated at first but, trust me, my sparkly pink tutus don't shy away from any fashion challenge!
Life on the Pink Tutu Train
As always, I’ve got my camera in hand, capturing the colourful and delightful sights of Paris. I'll be sharing photos, fashion tips and Parisian inspiration in the weeks to come.
I know how much you all enjoy my travel diary entries, so I promise I’ll have lots of stories about my pink tutu adventures in Paris. And I have some exciting announcements coming up very soon, but you'll have to stay tuned for those!
For now, au revoir and have a wonderful weekend!
Love and Tutu's, Emma xxx
