Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post 1020 - A Tutu-ful Tour of the City of Lights
Bonjour mes amis! It's Emma here, your pink tutu-clad guide to all things fabulous. Today I'm writing from Paris, the City of Lights, the city of love, and definitely the city of style! I finally made it, after a gloriously smooth journey on the Eurostar. Yes, you read that right, I boarded the Eurostar in my pink tutu! Let's just say the fellow passengers on the train seemed to find the spectacle rather entertaining. I mean, when in doubt, unleash the pink!
This week's post is all about the first two days of my Paris escapade. And let me tell you, it's been an absolute dream. From twirling through the stunning gardens of the Palais Royal to getting lost in the magical world of the Opéra Garnier, this city has truly captured my heart.
A Whirlwind Tour of the Parisian ClassicsSaturday dawned bright and sunny, so naturally, my first stop was the iconic Eiffel Tower. I swear, it's even more breathtaking in person! Standing at the base, looking up at its impossibly elegant iron frame, I felt a little twirl was definitely in order.
Of course, no Parisian adventure would be complete without a little fashion exploration. I am a ballerina, so a visit to the elegant department stores is an absolute must. From the couture designs of the grand salons of Galeries Lafayette to the edgy, stylish boutiques in the Marais district, every shop window here is a work of art. I could honestly spend weeks just browsing.
The evening, however, was reserved for a true treat - a ballet performance at the legendary Opéra Garnier. Watching dancers soar across the stage in their elegant costumes against the opulent backdrop was pure magic. My toes were practically tapping, and I found myself dreaming of being back in the studio, working hard to one day achieve such grace and precision.
Parisian Dreams on SundaySunday started with a breakfast at a charming little café, indulging in delicious pastries and strong coffee, while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of the city. It was time for some historical exploration and the Louvre Museum, with its towering glass pyramid and priceless masterpieces, was at the top of my list.
After several hours marvelling at Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, and countless other historical gems, I finally made my way to the Notre-Dame Cathedral. This stunning monument is even more impressive than I imagined, its grand Gothic arches and intricate sculptures were simply awe-inspiring. Despite its recent tragic fire, the building exuded an ethereal beauty, leaving me feeling filled with reverence and inspiration.
Parisian Cuisine and Parisian ShoppingAfter an afternoon filled with artistic exploration, I couldn’t resist a traditional French meal at a quaint little bistro, complete with a juicy steak frites and a delectable bottle of red wine.
But as always, my afternoon was far from over! Paris is a shopper's paradise and it's just not possible to resist the charm of its chic boutiques. I'm still obsessed with the gorgeous lace details and soft colours I saw in a tiny independent shop in the Latin Quarter. I bought myself the most exquisite, pale pink blouse and couldn’t resist a beautiful silk scarf with delicate floral embroidery - a true Parisian treasure!
The day concluded with a wonderful stroll along the banks of the Seine. Watching the city light up at dusk was a magical moment. There's something about this city that is simply intoxicating; it's vibrant, artistic, and endlessly enchanting.
Living my Best Pink Tutu LifeAs I sit here, writing in my quaint hotel room, adorned in a pretty floral dress (though you can never go wrong with a pink tutu!) I can't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. It's such a privilege to be able to travel and share my love of all things beautiful with the world.
The next few days promise more adventures: the Palace of Versailles, Montmartre, maybe a bit of "Cabaret" style entertainment for an evening… the possibilities are endless! And, of course, I will be documenting it all, capturing every last detail of this pink tutu filled journey.
So, stay tuned! My next blog post will be bursting with more Parisian delights. Don't forget to check out my Instagram (@PinkTutuBlog) and let me know what you’re up to this week. Until next time, remember, it's always a good time to embrace the pink and unleash your inner twirling fairy.
Bisous! Emma

- A pink tutu is never the wrong choice! Seriously, it’s never wrong.
- The best journeys are the ones filled with dancing and laughter. Always keep the love in your heart and a twirl in your step.
