#PinkTutuBlogParis: Paris, Je T'aime! (Post #1052)
Bonjour, my darlings! It’s your favourite tutu-wearing traveller, Emma, and I’m so excited to be back in Paris, the city of love, light and... well, pink, of course!
As you know, I’m a bit of a train fanatic (the Eurostar journey is truly magical), and this time, my trip was fuelled by the thrill of exploring the capital of France with a brand new pink tulle creation. Let me tell you, there is nothing quite like feeling the Parisian air caress your tutu as you wander past cobbled streets. Oh, la la!
This week’s Paris post is all about soaking up the beauty and energy of this magnificent city. Buckle up, because we're going to be taking a whirlwind tour through boutiques, cafes, and maybe even a ballet class or two!
The Pinkest Journey:
The Eurostar was just as charming as I remembered. I made sure to accessorize my trusty pink tutu with a chic beret and a long, flowy scarf - Parisian style, of course! There was something magical about gazing out of the window as the English countryside morphed into the beautiful, rolling French landscape.
When I finally arrived at Gare du Nord, I took a deep breath of the delicious, Parisian air. Oh, the freedom of stepping off that train and being in this captivating city once again!
Ballet in the City of Lights:
It wouldn’t be a true Parisian adventure without a ballet performance, would it? My first stop was at the glorious Palais Garnier, home to the Paris Opera. Seeing "La Bayadère" here was a dream come true - the grandiosity of the opera house paired with the exquisite artistry of the dancers. Talk about magical!
After the performance, I wandered the cobbled streets near the Palais Garnier. There's something about Paris that just inspires. I can't resist a little window-shopping, particularly at the independent fashion boutiques lining these narrow alleyways. It was a whirlwind of fabrics, colors, and textures – all just begging to be turned into the next masterpiece in my tutu wardrobe!
The Pink Power of Paris:
Every corner in this city seems to offer something extraordinary. It's practically impossible to walk down a street without encountering some breathtaking masterpiece of architecture, art or...pink! I even found the cutest little shop overflowing with the most exquisite pink clothing and accessories – my heart was beating a happy jig just stepping through the door!
I’m planning a full-fledged Parisian "pink shopping spree" for my next trip. Imagine: finding a vintage pink dress tucked away in a secret Parisian shop, getting a custom-made pink silk scarf designed by a local artisan, or even finding the perfect pink pair of pointe shoes.
More than Just Shopping, Darling:
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love to shop! But there’s so much more to Paris than the endless boutiques. One afternoon, I found myself at a charming little café, sipping a cappuccino and watching the world go by. A street performer, dressed in a vibrant, blue tutu, began to play a delightful tune on the violin. She captivated the whole cafe with her music - reminding me how captivating the energy of Paris really is.
I even managed to fit in a little Parisian ballet class! The studio was beautiful, light and airy, and the instructor was a total Parisian ballerina, complete with a perfectly sleek bun and a sharp, elegant presence. I may not have had the same level of finesse as she did (we’ve all got our weaknesses, darling!), but it was an absolute delight to dance amongst other ballet enthusiasts.
Food, Friends and Fashion:
No trip to Paris would be complete without some delectable French food, right? Whether it’s the warm, crusty bread at a local boulangerie, or a mouthwatering crêpe devoured by the Seine, Paris just knows how to pamper your taste buds. My personal favourite is a slice of gooey, melty cheese and a glass of rose in a cozy café. Pure perfection!
Later that evening, I joined a group of ballet enthusiasts for dinner and a glass of wine. I discovered that we had all traveled to Paris for the same ballet show. A wonderful evening was spent talking all things ballet - it felt like finding a group of like-minded tutu-lovers amidst a sea of stylish Parisian faces.
As my Parisian journey comes to an end, I can’t help but feel a touch of sadness - but this will definitely not be my last visit to the city of love and fashion. Paris will always be waiting with open arms and an overflowing bag of inspiration, ready to inspire me with its captivating beauty.
So until next time, my dearest darlings!
A Pink Tutu’s Parisian Notes:
1. Parisian Pink Palette: Pink is definitely having its moment in Paris, whether it's the blossoming cherry trees in the Tuileries Garden, or the soft pastel-pink awnings of cafes, this city has a special pink allure. I recommend visiting the charming boutique called "Rose Paris" for an extra special dose of pink inspiration!
2. Ballet in the City of Light: Don't forget to check out the Ballet National de Marseille, The Paris Opera or the Theatre du Châtelet. Ballet performances here are spectacular, so bring your dancing shoes!
3. Shopping Adventures: This city has no shortage of amazing fashion boutiques, from haute couture houses to charming independent shops.
4. Parisian Essentials: For my next trip, I’ll be adding these Parisian essentials to my suitcase: * A beret (of course!) * A long, flowy scarf * An elegant black dress * Comfortable walking shoes (you'll be doing a lot of strolling!)
5. Indulge in a Parisian Crêpe: Be sure to grab a crepe from one of the many charming stands dotting the city streets.
6. Get Your Pink Tutu Ready: It goes without saying, a pink tutu is essential for a Parisian adventure!
And finally, remember: I want you all to join the pink tutu movement. Because, after all, the world needs more sparkle, more joy, more tutus! And where better to spread this magic than in the City of Love?
Keep twirling, Emma
