Pink Tutu Paris - #1071

Bonjour mes amis! 👋

It's Saturday, and you know what that means - a new Paris blog post from your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina! I'm so excited to be in the City of Lights, the home of fashion, romance, and, yes, even ballet! 🩰

This week, I hopped on the Eurostar, my favourite way to travel, for a whirlwind trip to Paris, and let me tell you, I'm absolutely smitten with the place. Everything about this city is just... magical! 💫

It all started at the Gare du Nord, where the pink tulle of my dress made me stand out like a shimmering, fairytale dream amongst the crowds. I couldn't resist grabbing a Parisian-style beret and a dainty pink parasol for that extra touch of French flair. 🇫🇷 👒

Of course, the main reason for my Parisian escapade was to immerse myself in the world of ballet, and boy, did I achieve that! 💃

My first stop was the Palais Garnier, the majestic opera house that was the backdrop for Gaston Leroux’s chilling tale, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ – talk about an atmosphere! 🎭

I almost gasped in awe when I saw the grandeur of the grand staircase. It’s a sight that sends shivers down my spine. The elegant interior, the exquisite décor, the plush seating – it's a feast for the senses, and you can practically hear the phantom's melodies echo in the hallowed halls. 🎻

But the best part was the ballet! "Giselle", the haunting tale of a village girl, presented by the Opéra National de Paris. I was mesmerised by the costumes, the intricate choreography, and the powerful performances. I felt like I was transported into a dreamlike world where sorrow and passion collide. 😭

Even before I went to see the performance, I visited the Paris Opera's official shop, and bought a little ‘Giselle’ ballerina figure, which sits proudly on my bedside table, a beautiful reminder of this stunning performance. 🩰

Next up, I joined a ballet class at the l’École de Danse de Paris – you guys, it was incredible! My ballet shoes practically floated across the floor in a city known for its breathtaking architecture and stylish cobbled streets. 💫

The Parisian teachers are a masterclass in elegance and precision. Their movements were effortless and captivating, inspiring me to push myself further in my own dancing. Even in the sweltering Parisian summer heat, their passion was tangible. I know I’m pushing my skills to the next level by having classes here, with a teacher that was so knowledgeable and talented. 💖

You can find so much fashion inspiration in this city – it’s impossible to go into a store and not buy something amazing! There are gorgeous independent boutiques, trendy Parisian brands, and, of course, the world-renowned department stores. 👠

Walking through the streets, I marvelled at the beautiful architecture and felt like I was living in a Parisian novel. I indulged in delicious croissants and café au lait at quaint cafés, taking in the buzz and vibrant atmosphere. You guys should try ‘L’Artiste’ – it’s got great food, fantastic décor and it’s perfectly located for shopping on Avenue de Champs Élysées. I took loads of outfit photos there. They'll be up on the Pink-Tutu website in a couple of days. 😋

But fashion isn't just about designer labels; it's about expressing yourself, about celebrating your individuality, and making a statement, and Paris is brimming with fashion icons from all walks of life. I loved watching the different people strutting around, and the endless stream of stunning street style. 🤩

I took the opportunity to pick up some chic additions to my wardrobe, including a vintage beret in a vibrant shade of pink (I can’t resist a pink accessory) and a beautiful floral print dress that I can already picture twirling in! 👒

For a special evening out, I donned a sparkling pink tutu and a beautiful vintage cocktail dress, I chose the glamorous Crazy Horse cabaret. The burlesque show is a sight to behold. There is so much to admire – the costumes, the performances and the stunning makeup – and there is an air of glamour and fun that had everyone in the audience buzzing. You could feel a sense of camaraderie and community. We all went out for a glass of champagne afterwards – this city is a true party town!🥂

My week in Paris wouldn't be complete without exploring the charming Seine river and soaking up the city’s romantic energy. The views were truly breathtaking and inspired me to dream up a Parisian ballet piece filled with graceful movements and stunning scenery. Maybe that’ll be a future ballet show, once I have finished my Paris adventures! ✨

But amidst all the beauty and glamour, I found that Paris is a city of stories and warmth. Everywhere you look, there’s a little piece of history waiting to be discovered – just like finding a vintage pearl hidden within a treasure box.

You guys know I’m always on the hunt for a good story, and you can tell stories from a stroll through the bustling streets or sipping coffee in a small cafe. Everyone has a story in this place – the friendly vendors at the markets, the elegant women enjoying a café au lait on a sunny day, the charming street musicians spreading a symphony of joy. Each little tale adds to the fabric of Paris, making this city a tapestry of human experiences that leave an indelible mark on my heart. 💗

Oh, and you won’t believe the news – my latest ballet performance just secured a donation for the upcoming trip, a week in Florence, a city also steeped in history and fashion! 🏛️👠 The beauty and grace of ballet truly have the power to inspire others. You should come and join my performance this coming Saturday, just outside the Derbny Town Hall in the main square, it’ll be beautiful!

Now, as the Eiffel Tower sparkles in the distance, and the gentle strains of an accordion melody fill the air, I know it’s time to say au revoir to this enchanting city. But I'll be back soon, and next time, you can bet I’ll have even more pink tutus in tow! 😉

Until then, keep spreading the love of ballet and let’s dance into the week ahead! 🩰

A bientôt,

Emma,
