#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2021-01-23 - Exploring Paris!
Bonjour mes amies! It's Saturday again, which means it's time for another post on Pink Tutu Blog Paris! (This is post number 1100 - how exciting!). I'm back from a whirlwind week in Paris, and I'm bursting with so many stories I can barely contain myself.
Eurostar, Paris and Pink
This week, I took the Eurostar to Paris. If you havenāt done it before, I highly recommend it! Itās the perfect way to get to the City of Lights, in style. I, of course, wore my signature pink tutu. My darling, new pink fur trimmed coat completed my Paris look. There is nothing better than a train journey for sparking creative ideas and feeling that excitement of getting ready for adventures ahead. Especially when you know Paris is your final destination.
* Ballet in the City of Lights*
Of course, the main reason for my trip was to catch two incredible ballet performances. I couldn't miss the Parisian premiere of āGiselleā - it was breath-taking! I got goosebumps watching those graceful dancers bring the story to life. The costume design was exceptional and so very dramatic! This was followed by an enchanting evening at the Palais Garnier Opera House seeing āThe Nutcrackerā. It never ceases to amaze me how something so magical and classic, still gets to my heart every time I watch it.
Shopping - It's what we all do in Paris
Shopping in Paris is like taking a journey into a dreamworld of designer fashion. From beautiful boutiques nestled on side streets to grand department stores like Galeries Lafayette ( oh I do love Galeries Lafayette), there's something for everyone. This week, I picked up a stunning, delicate lace pink tutu and matching headbow (naturally!). I can't wait to try them on for my next ballet class - theyāre going to look gorgeous under the studio lighting! You can tell from the photographs I took that Paris always inspires my style, with a blend of timeless Parisian elegance and my personal Pink Tutu flair.
Cafe life, Art and Parisian Style
Beyond the ballet, I discovered some amazing cafes that captured the true Parisian spirit. With their tiny, terrace tables and a charming ambiance it's almost as if time slows down when youāre in these havens of cafe culture. I spent a few blissful hours sitting at a cafe in Montmartre, just soaking in the bohemian vibe of the city and sketching in my notebook all the wonderful pink and red flowers that filled the Parisian streets this time of year. My Parisian adventures also took me to the MusĆ©e D'Orsay, where the Impressionist masterpieces are on show and they never fail to enchant me. Oh and the French bakeries and macarons- how amazing they are, and the aroma as you walk down the street- I adore it! The people too, I find so effortlessly chic with a stylish grace and the atmosphere in Paris has such a vibrant, happy, buzz about it.
Pink Tutu Flair in Paris
A trip to Paris wouldn't be complete without some theatrical performances, which I savoured as always. I love seeing the mix of the modern, the contemporary and the traditional performances on offer in Paris. This week I saw an innovative new ballet interpretation of āHamlet" performed in a small theatre near the Canal St Martin. It was an intriguing, challenging production, using the latest ballet technology and visual effects. I absolutely loved it - how daring it was to be so bold, to mix the Shakespeare and the contemporary ballet style was such an inspired way of reinventing the play and it got a rapturous standing ovation from the crowd. And after my trip to the theater, I stopped by the Canal St Martin for a delicious croissant from a local patisserie ( with pink frosting, of course!).
*Pink Tutu Philosophy and Pink Dreams *
I believe thereās something very magical and empowering about wearing pink tutus. It doesn't matter where you are or who you are - when youāre wearing a tutu, you can dance through life with joy. I'm on a mission to bring the pink tutu to the world! One step at a time, I hope to encourage others to wear tutus for ballet class, performances, or even just for a casual day around town. I have met a wonderful group of kindred spirits here in Paris - the Parisian tutu girls who also share my love for pink tutus and they're spreading the message to all the women in the City of Light and beyond. It makes me so happy when people comment about the Pink Tutu message and it is amazing to see how my readers embrace my colourful philosophy!
