#PinkTutuBlogParis: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #1102)
Bonjour mes chĆ©ries! Itās Emma, your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, here, and Iām finally in Paris! Iāve been counting down the days ever since I booked the tickets, and I can hardly believe I'm finally here. I think Paris was made for pink tutus. Just wait till you see what Iāve planned for our adventure.
You know, Iāve always been a huge fan of travel. My favourite mode of transport? It's got to be the Eurostar - thereās nothing quite like the thrill of zipping through the Chunnel and then emerging into a brand new country. The Channel Tunnel feels like a magical portal to another world! This time I left Derbyshire feeling like a proper adventurer. But first things firstā¦
A Eurostar Love Affair
The train journey itself was magical. I settled into my seat with a glass of bubbly and devoured a stack of magazines, all the while dreaming of the adventures that awaited in Paris. The Eurostar carriage, just like everything else in my world, was dressed in the most delightful shades of pink. The stewardess even brought me a rose (in pink of course!). I swear I can smell the romance wafting in from France even when Iām on the Eurostar.
First Steps in Paris
And then, after a mere two-and-a-half hours, there I was. Arriving at Gare du Nord station, in Paris, I couldn't wait to get my hands on my first Parisian croissant. It was so good - crispy, buttery, flaky - oh my gosh! It was worth the whole train journey.
And then...it happened! The very first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower - it was majestic. This magnificent landmark felt like a huge, glamorous ballerina gracefully lifting itself towards the Parisian sky, beckoning us all to join the beautiful Parisian dance. I just know my tutus will whirl around this gorgeous city beautifully.
My Hotel: Pink, Pink, and More Pink
This week, I'm staying in the cutest boutique hotel you ever did see. It's got a "je ne sais quoi" - a pinkness, a stylishness, and a kind of fairytale feel. My room feels like a dressing room for a ballerina's dream - think silk curtains, velvet cushions and my favourite shade of pink everywhere! They even had a fluffy white dressing gown waiting for me (which, letās be honest, was promptly donned).
Dinner with a View: My Paris Loves Story Begins
First up on my Paris itinerary? Dinner with a view of the Eiffel Tower! Imagine me in my pink tulle gown (one with a sparkly overlay of course), enjoying a magical Parisian meal, and with my very own, personal tower just for me. It was romantic, it was dreamy, and the Eiffel Tower, it seems, does really sparkle, all twinkling lights and elegance! It truly did feel like something out of a movie. My heart feels like a tiny little ballerina in my chest, just doing pirouettes. You can really feel the magic of the city around you here.
Daytime Delights: Exploring the City of Love
My next morning, I woke up with the city calling. My first mission was to buy a new tutu - because I couldnāt come to Paris without a brand new outfit, right? Now, this shop I found was not a regular ballerina shop. Oh no, it was "Le Tutu Pink" (literally "The Pink Tutu" - it just HAD to be!) They have these incredible tutus that are part tulle, part feather boa - I looked amazing, like a little pink fluffball. Just imagine a fluffy tutu swirling as you twirl around, your tiny little ballerina heart overflowing. This is the Parisian dream!
The Palais Garnier: My Ballet Inspiration
And no trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to the Palais Garnier. This is one of the most incredible places Iāve ever been! The Paris Opera is majestic - gilded with gold, marble floors, chandeliers dripping with crystals. It's enough to take your breath away. I can just imagine the history within these walls! Just like the other beautiful sights in Paris, it seemed like it was meant to be watched with a pink tutu. I had to buy a commemorative picture with a cute ballerina and the gorgeous theatre behind me. Can you tell that Paris is really hitting all the right notes? Oh my gosh! I can barely even contain myself!
Sunday Funday: The Ballet Bliss Begins!
It was on Sunday, and today, we were off to a ballet show, at the ThĆ©Ć¢tre de ChĆ¢telet. The theatre was like stepping into another world: gorgeous, classic and oh-so-romantic! We saw Swan Lake, which was simply divine. There's something special about watching a classic ballet in a place like this - all the history, the talent, the costumesā¦ And I know that in a week or two, when I'm back in Derbyshire, I'll be feeling a little sad to have left this incredible city.
Shopping Adventures in Paris: Fashion Delights
And of course, every trip needs some serious retail therapy. I love French style! This trip has seen me embracing some incredible clothes shops ā think vintage treasures, elegant French boutiques, and even some street-style bargains that just screamed "Parisienne!" Itās incredible how clothes make you feel so special, how the little things in life can just make you feel so wonderful! I think I might have found a brand new pink beret, a pair of French ballet shoes (of course, all pink), and a cashmere sweater - I can just see myself wearing them around the city while on my travels in Paris.
Paris, I Love You (In Pink!)
Paris has taken my heart! The sights, the sounds, the food, the tutus... I have definitely felt a love story blossoming here, a new chapter unfolding with my pink tutus leading the way! There is something about this city, it's like magic! Even the rain doesnāt stop it. There's romance in the air, there's elegance and beauty all around! This isn't just any blog - this is #PinkTutuBlogParis - a special, sparkly place where Parisian magic meets girly fun! And, darling, this is just the start... Stay tuned for my next post, as I continue my ballet-tastic exploration of the city of lights! Au revoir for now!
