#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 1103 - Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Saturday 2021-02-13)

Oh, Paris! My heart beats a little faster every time I set foot in this magical city. The air practically hums with history, romance, and yes, even a little bit of magic. This week, I've arrived in style, as usual, hopping on the Eurostar for a whirlwind of Parisian delights.

This week's adventure, dear Pink Tutu readers, is a very special one! I'm in Paris to soak up the city's renowned ballet scene - and believe me, there's no better place to be for a pink tutu-wearing ballerina like me.

Before we delve into all the dancey goodness, let's talk about my travel ensemble! It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu adventure without a touch of Parisian flair, right?

My journey started with my trusty, well-worn travel tutu, this time in a pale blush pink with delicate pearl embellishments - perfect for both comfort and elegance on the Eurostar. The train carriage felt positively glamorous as I gazed out the window, the English countryside blurring into the French landscape, dreaming of Parisian cafes, cobblestone streets, and, of course, the beautiful ballets awaiting me.

A Day of Delights

As the sun set over the French capital, casting a warm glow over the city’s monuments and architecture, I knew this trip would be one for the books!

I’m staying in the Latin Quarter, in a charming little hotel with an antique charm that feels like stepping back in time. Imagine, pink floral wallpaper, lace curtains, and a touch of chintz, oh, so delightfully Parisian. And of course, there’s a small balcony, perfect for sipping a glass of rosé as I people-watch on the quaint cobbled street below.

My day started with a delicious breakfast at the local patisserie, their buttery croissants so good they melt in your mouth - I swear I could have eaten a dozen!

After a leisurely stroll through the picturesque Luxembourg Gardens, the setting sun gilding the trees in a golden light, I settled in for the evening’s grand finale - the most magnificent ballet performance I have ever seen! The Palais Garnier Opera House - oh my, what a magnificent building - is a true marvel of architectural splendor. Inside, the velvet seating, plush crimson carpets, and the chandelier casting a cascade of light on the stage left me spellbound even before the curtain rose.

Tonight's performance, a rendition of "La Bayadère," was an ethereal masterpiece. The dancers, graceful and ethereal, flowed like poetry in motion. Every pirouette, every jeté, was pure artistry, taking my breath away with its elegance.

And to complete this already magical day, my evening culminated with a visit to one of my absolute favourite boutiques in the world, the luxurious "Au Bon Marché" in the Left Bank. It’s just so wonderfully whimsical! And oh my goodness, they have the most stunning collection of ballerina slippers - each a work of art. I snagged myself a gorgeous pair, a shimmering rose gold with delicate silver detailing, just perfect for the next stage of my Parisian adventures.

Paris, A City of Style

The magic of Paris is infectious. It's in the architecture, the cobblestone streets, the smell of fresh croissants wafting through the air, the Parisian charm and nonchalance of the people. Of course, we can't forget the chic boutiques bursting with the latest fashion trends. My heart does a happy little pirouette at the sheer beauty and style of this city.

Today, I went a bit shopping-mad! The vintage clothing shops on Rue de Seine had so many exquisite gems tucked away: delicate silk scarves, chic French hats, and a beautiful embroidered linen dress, which I couldn’t resist. And speaking of fashion, my lovely Pink Tutu readers, this week I've taken to adding a dash of Parisian style to my everyday look!

Think crisp white blouses paired with black cigarette trousers and a sleek red beret, just like the Parisian girls I've admired. The charm of these effortlessly chic Parisians is so inspiring! I love how they express their style with simple pieces and an impeccable sense of elegance.

Paris Through A Tutu Lens

Every corner of Paris tells a story, and each day I discover new treasures, charming cafes with views of the Eiffel Tower, quaint little shops hidden away on narrow streets, and art galleries where creativity takes center stage.

Tomorrow, I have an exciting ballet class planned at the renowned L'Ecole de Danse. I can’t wait to experience the discipline and artistry of the French style of ballet.

Paris inspires me on a deep level - in my heart, it awakens the passion for the arts that is my life’s driving force. My Parisian diary, brimming with adventures, will continue next Saturday, with more Parisian ballet bliss and stylish inspiration, of course! Until then, do make sure to pop by www.pink-tutu.com to catch my ballet class update. Keep the pink tutus twirling!
