Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post 1131 - Saturday 28th August 2021
Bonjour mes amis! Can you believe it's been a whole week since I've shared a Parisian adventure with you? Well, it's Saturday morning, the sun is streaming through the window of my gorgeous little hotel room and the croissants are warm from the boulangerie downstairs, so it's time to get back to what I do best – sharing the magic of Paris with you, darling!
This week I whisked myself over to the City of Lights via Eurostar, which, as always, was a total dream! Seriously, can we talk about how utterly civilised and romantic it is to travel by train? I had a seat by the window, gazing at the changing landscape of France, the glorious countryside passing by in a kaleidoscope of colours and textures, like a moving masterpiece. Just perfect!
It's almost time to pack my little tutu bag for a day of exploring! And speaking of tutus, did I tell you I'm working on a new project called "Pink Tutus for Paris"? My aim? To see every single person in Paris wearing a pink tutu! You know me, darling, always dreaming big! Think of the joyous ballet-inspired fashion scene! And maybe it'll finally get people over the 'ballet for grown ups' fear, because it’s actually amazing!
Okay, before you think I'm completely bonkers (though let's be honest, I wouldn't be me without a touch of the quirky), let me tell you about what I've got planned for my Parisian adventures this week:
First on the agenda - a visit to the Grand Palais: I've heard there's a spectacular exhibition happening there, celebrating the history of fashion from the 18th century right up to today! It's just the kind of place that inspires me, you know? It's all about embracing colour, patterns and creating a bold visual statement, and let’s face it, I love nothing more than putting my own stylish spin on classic looks!
Then, darling, I'll be making a beeline to the Place de la Concorde: There's just something about this square that takes my breath away. The energy here is absolutely electric, it's where I feel truly immersed in the magic of Paris. It's like being in a painting, with those grand buildings surrounding the famous fountains and sculptures. Plus, they say that if you spin around three times in the centre of the square, you'll have seven years of good luck! And honestly, who can resist a little Parisian luck, right?
But that's not all - a trip to Paris isn't complete without indulging in a little haute couture shopping: My eyes are peeled for a statement necklace that’s both vintage chic and pink, of course! And a couple of elegant pairs of heels - one with a delicate strap for the evenings out and another, super stylish pair for those iconic Parisian walks! I might even splurge on a fab, new handbag to hold all my essential pink-tutu-inspired things! Think Chanel in a pink shade – oh, darling, just imagine it!
Oh, and don't forget, a ballet performance is a must! This Saturday night, the Palais Garnier will be alive with the music and grace of Swan Lake, and trust me, there's no feeling quite like it! Ballet is so incredibly emotive and magical, you just get totally lost in the moment and feel like anything is possible! I love the feeling of floating, twirling and leaping in a dreamy, twirly tutu – oh, darling, if you get a chance, see it for yourself!
Speaking of ballet, I had a real Parisian adventure earlier this week, getting completely lost on the beautiful little streets around the Opéra Garnier. But don’t worry, I had my pink tutu on, so I got plenty of curious glances from people, as well as directions to the lovely little patisserie on the corner – talk about the sweetest serendipity! That’s Paris for you – it's full of surprises and, let's be honest, delicious treats!
And now, my lovely friends, I'm going to go put on a splash of pink lipstick and a gorgeous dress, and head out to soak up some Parisian sunshine! Until next Saturday, stay sparkling and, of course, stay fabulous!

*Now, darlings, for a little bit of Friday night fashion fun, here's my personal pink tutu-inspired Parisian wardrobe wishlist: *
- A pink polka dot silk dress: Because, what could be more iconic and timeless than the Parisian polka dot! I'm imagining a chic, knee-length design in a bold pink that pops!
- A gorgeous pair of statement pearl earrings: I can see these gleaming with the Parisian lights. Pearl earrings, in all their understated elegance, have the power to transform an outfit. And, for that touch of vintage magic, I'd be after a pair with a pink tinge to them!
- A soft pink cashmere scarf: For when the Parisian breeze makes an appearance. I'm thinking something beautifully textured in a dreamy blush shade. The perfect addition to my chic Parisian wardrobe.
A chic straw tote bag with pink leather handles: The ultimate summer bag! It can carry all my essentials: my favourite book, some fabulous pink lip gloss, and, of course, my travel ballet shoes, because you never know when the opportunity for a little twirl might arise!
*Here's my Parisian agenda for the next few weeks: *
Tuesday: Exploring the Latin Quarter: From the charming cafes to the stunning architecture, this area is just oozing with French charm!
- Wednesday: A Seine River cruise with a glass of wine: Soaking up the sights of Paris, especially the majestic Eiffel Tower, with a glass of bubbly - now that's a romantic Parisian dream!
- Thursday: A trip to the Louvre to marvel at the art: The Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, and so many more timeless masterpieces are waiting for me. A must-see for any trip to Paris!
So, darling, that's a glimpse into my Parisian week - stay tuned for more pink-tutu adventures from the City of Lights!
I'll leave you with my favourite Parisian quote - "Paris, I love you."
Au revoir! xx
