#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #1165 - Bonjour, Paris!

Saturday 2022-04-23

Hello, my darlings! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind week of ballet performances in Derbyshire and ready to share my Parisian adventures with you. Today marks a very special occasion, as it's my first official day exploring the City of Lights, and believe me, it's everything I've dreamed of and more!

It's a cliché, I know, but Paris really does feel magical. As I stepped out of the Eurostar and into the Gare du Nord, the scent of freshly baked pastries, the sound of French chatter, and the sheer vibrancy of it all just washed over me. I felt like a little girl, utterly enchanted.

First things first: wardrobe. Naturally, I arrived in Paris with my trusty pink tutu (it's a "travel tutu", extra light and compact, you know!) and a suitcase filled with all the gorgeous dresses and vintage finds that have been begging to be unleashed on Parisian streets. I felt like I'd just walked out of a vintage film, a glamorous and girly heroine ready to conquer the City of Love!

We took a charming stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg, admiring the flowerbeds, laughing with the children chasing pigeons, and indulging in the sweetest, most delicious crêpes you can imagine. Oh, the simple pleasures! The sun was shining, the air was crisp, and the entire atmosphere just radiated happiness.

Later in the afternoon, I realised a ballet enthusiast like me could never visit Paris without catching a show. Luckily, we managed to snag tickets for a mesmerising performance by the prestigious Ballet de l'Opéra National de Paris. Oh my, the dancers! The choreography! The costumes! It was truly an awe-inspiring experience that left me with goosebumps. Watching such incredible talent made my soul sing!

Now, I’m sitting at a quaint cafe on the Champs-Élysées, watching the world go by, and writing to you all with a cup of strong French coffee and a croissant. Oh, the Parisian charm! You can find my current outfit here, by the way – you know I always share the details. The shoes are new, with the prettiest pink detailing!

This weekend promises more adventures: more exploring the historic landmarks, strolling through the boutiques, sampling all sorts of Parisian delights, and, of course, maybe even adding a couple of more fabulous outfits to my Parisian wardrobe. Who knows what tomorrow might bring? I’m embracing the Parisian magic with wide open eyes and an even wider smile, hoping to share it all with you!

But remember, my darlings, a true Parisian adventure isn’t just about the Eiffel Tower or croissants (though they are undeniably amazing). It’s about capturing the essence of Parisian spirit, its romantic beauty, its vibrancy and sophistication, and above all, its undeniable flair!

Stay tuned for more Parisian delights next Saturday!

In the meantime, why not grab your pink tutu and explore your own world, you fabulous creatures. It's a reminder that magic can be found everywhere, even in your own backyard!

Love and sparkles,

Outfit details:

Top: Lavender silk blouse, vintage from a little shop on Rue de Rennes.

Bottom: My trusty travel tutu, with the signature pink detail.

Shoes: New patent leather flats with gorgeous pink embroidery. I spotted them in a shop on the Champs-Élysées and simply had to have them!

Bag: A vintage brown leather bag, bought from a stall at the Saint-Ouen flea market. I'm a firm believer in a vintage handbag - it adds so much personality to an outfit.
