Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #1169)
Hello my gorgeous girly-girls! 🩰✨ It's Emma here, ready to whisk you away to the most romantic city in the world – Paris! Yes, my darlings, I'm back in the City of Love, the place where dreams come true and the air is filled with the sweet scent of pastries and…well, actually it smells quite strongly of pigeons and cigarettes, but who cares when you're surrounded by such stunning architecture? 😉
This time I'm on a mission to discover the Parisian ballet scene. After all, what's a ballerina girl like me doing in Paris without seeing some breathtaking dance? So I'll be sharing all my insider tips and insights into the best shows, classes, and hidden gems that Paris has to offer. You know, those Parisian places that make you want to twirl endlessly down the Champs-Élysées.
But before I start talking all things ballet, let's take a moment to celebrate this amazing city! You know I can't go anywhere without my signature pink tutu! 💕 I chose a super cute, fluffy pink tutu this time, a little more subtle, you know, like a whisper of a blush pink. It’s my go-to choice for exploring the City of Lights, paired with my trusty white ballet flats (don’t worry, I'll show you my full Parisian outfit later!).
Getting here was a breeze! The EuroStar from London was smooth as butter, allowing me to relax and admire the rolling countryside whilst dreaming up new blog posts. If you haven't tried the EuroStar, I highly recommend it! It’s super efficient, super speedy, and lets you kick off your Paris adventure the moment you step onto the platform.
Now, let me tell you about my arrival in Paris! As soon as the train pulled into Gare du Nord, my heart did a little skip. There's just something magical about the French capital that gets me every time. The architecture is breathtaking, the air is infused with that classic Parisian charm, and there's an undeniable buzz in the air!
I stepped out onto the platform feeling incredibly grateful to be here, to experience this vibrant city for another weekend of dance, fashion, and sheer joie de vivre. The only thing missing? That unmistakable Pink Tutu magic. And don’t you worry, darlings, that's about to change.
A little about me: The Pink Tutu Traveller
If you’re new here, welcome! 👋 My name is Emma and I'm a self-proclaimed Pink Tutu Ambassador, living life one graceful step at a time.
You can find me at www.pink-tutu.com every Saturday. This is where I share all my adventures and fashion inspiration, as well as my passion for ballet. I’m based in the Peak District, so if you ever need some lovely countryside scenery and dance tips, you know where to find me!
But what you should really know about me is that I am obsessed with pink tutus (who isn’t? 💕). I firmly believe every woman can benefit from a touch of pink tutu in her life! It’s a statement of individuality, of femininity, of joy. Plus, tutus are just plain fun!
I know some of you think I'm a bit bonkers for travelling the world in a pink tutu, but honestly? I love it! It helps me to stand out from the crowd and adds a touch of whimsical magic to my travels. Plus, I find people are so much more approachable and friendly when you’re wearing something as fabulous as a pink tutu. It’s a universal language, you know!
How do I travel the world? I'm lucky to earn a living as a professional dancer, so I fund my travels through performing at weddings, balls, and charity events. Each pirouette, every graceful move is a stepping stone closer to a new adventure. Plus, with my signature pink tutu I don't even need a costume!
Let’s talk Paris: My Travel Plan!
This time in Paris I'm focusing on three things:
1. Ballet & Performances: My main reason for coming to Paris is to experience the ballet scene here, to lose myself in the world of dance, and be swept away by the talent and emotion that goes into each performance.
2. Parisian Chic Shopping: This is where the girly-girl in me really shines! Paris is a fashion paradise and I can’t wait to indulge my shopping soul. Think chic boutiques, timeless vintage finds, and, of course, something to add a pop of pink to my wardrobe.
3. Exploring Paris: There’s something magical about wandering the streets of Paris, stumbling upon hidden corners, and letting the city work its magic. We’re talking a mix of iconic sights and quirky, charming finds. And yes, of course I’ll be showcasing all of it through the lens of my pink tutu. 💕
And what is happening on this, the most magical of days: Saturday, 21 May 2022?
Well, it’s a day filled with promises, my darlings! First up, we’re heading to Musée Rodin to immerse ourselves in the world of sculpture and be mesmerised by the artistry of Auguste Rodin.
Next up is a trip to the Le Marais district, known for its quaint charm, cute cafes and trendy boutiques. It’s the perfect spot to discover something special and embrace the Parisian lifestyle.
And what's a day in Paris without a taste of deliciousness? I’m planning on exploring the charming little patisseries and bakeries for the tastiest treats. Imagine freshly baked croissants and decadent pastries, all waiting to be devoured with a hot cup of café au lait. (Sorry, you’ll have to wait for photos as I plan to eat all the evidence!).
Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a bit of ballet magic, so I've already booked tickets for ‘Don Quixote’ at the Palais Garnier. We’ll be stepping back in time to witness the romance and drama of one of the most beloved ballets.
Stay tuned: I’m so excited to share this Parisian adventure with you. Each day will be filled with dance, fashion, and a sprinkle of pink tutu magic! Make sure to follow my blog every Saturday, subscribe to my Youtube channel, and join me on Instagram for even more behind-the-scenes fun!
I can’t wait to show you all the beauty Paris has to offer! 💖
