Pink Tutu Blog: Paris, Mon Amour! (Post #1183)
Bonjour mes chéris! Emma here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to the City of Lights. As you know, I adore Paris, it's simply bursting with beautiful fashion, breathtaking architecture, and of course, world-class ballet! This week I’m bringing you the best bits from my latest Parisian escapade.
EuroStar Glamour
I absolutely love the Eurostar, it's such a quick and luxurious way to get to Paris! As soon as you step onto the train, you're swept away into a world of comfort and sophistication. I, of course, opted for a pink outfit (a divine floral-print dress with a delicate tulle skirt!) to add a touch of whimsy to the journey. I settled in for a morning of reading Vogue and nibbling on delicious pastries, the perfect way to start a Parisian adventure.
Parisian Chic on a Budget
Let's be real, Paris can be an expensive city, but it's absolutely doable if you plan carefully. A little budgeting goes a long way, and the best part of exploring Paris on a tighter budget is finding all the hidden gems, like charming vintage shops with unbelievable finds. Trust me, there's nothing quite like stumbling upon the perfect tutu-tastic dress tucked away in a Parisian backstreet!
The Heart of the City - Montmartre
The Sacré-Cœur Basilica, with its iconic white dome, was truly a sight to behold. And as a fellow pink aficionado, I was particularly charmed by the bright pink candy stalls lining the cobbled streets of Montmartre. The views from the top of the hill were truly stunning – the entire city stretching out before me, it was like something out of a fairytale. Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a little souvenir shopping! I found the most darling pink beret and a collection of Parisian-themed postcards to remind me of my trip.
Ballet Dreams in the City of Love
My love for ballet runs deep, and I couldn't resist immersing myself in the Parisian ballet scene. On this particular trip, I had the absolute pleasure of watching "Giselle" at the Opéra Garnier. The grandeur of the theatre, the passion of the dancers, and the soaring music transported me to another world. I felt tears welling in my eyes – such raw beauty and emotion. If you're a fan of the art form, seeing a show in Paris is an absolute must.
A Whimsical Picnic in Jardin du Luxembourg
After an afternoon of exploring the Louvre and its iconic art masterpieces, I treated myself to a delightful picnic in Jardin du Luxembourg. The rose garden was in full bloom, the scent of fresh roses mingled with the playful laughter of children, it was truly idyllic. As I watched families playing with the little boats on the lake, a pang of longing for my own little ones began to tug at my heartstrings (that dream of being a mama isn't going away any time soon).
Fashion Finds
I have to confess, I indulged my passion for pink and tutu-tastic fashion during my Parisian sojourn. The Rue de Rivoli is a shopper’s paradise, bursting with boutiques selling exquisite vintage dresses, silk scarves and accessories. I treated myself to a blush-coloured, embroidered beret and a silk scarf with the most delicate pink floral pattern. I absolutely love how the French mix vintage with modern style! And don't even get me started on the shoes! Every step felt like walking on a cloud!
The Eiffel Tower - A Symbol of Love and Beauty
No Parisian journey would be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower! This towering monument was the most romantic setting I've ever witnessed. Standing there, I felt truly humbled by the beauty of this iconic symbol. Watching the sun set over the city with its soft orange glow against the tower's silhouette, it's no wonder Paris is known as the "City of Love".
Street Performances - A Cultural Feast
One of my favourite things to do in Paris is to wander the streets and be amazed by the street performers. From acrobats to musicians, these talented artists add such vibrancy and charm to the city's fabric. On this particular evening, I was captivated by a young violinist playing classical music with such passion, a true display of talent and artistry. And there’s always a certain air of theatricality about Paris which, as a huge fan of performance art, just thrills me!
Paris: Always a Dream
Well, mes amis, that was a little glimpse into my recent Parisian adventure. I hope I’ve inspired you to experience the magic of Paris yourself. The beauty of this city is captivating, and its cultural richness makes it a truly unforgettable place. Until next time, I leave you with a parting thought: never underestimate the power of a pink tutu and the dreams it can inspire!
