Pink Tutu Travels: Paris! Post #1190 🩰🇫🇷
Hello darlings! It's Emma here, back from another fabulous adventure! This week I'm whisking you off to the City of Lights, Paris, of course! You know I simply can't resist the allure of the Parisian fashion scene, the stunning architecture, and the delicious pastries. But most importantly, there's a whole load of exciting ballet to explore!
This time, I opted for a leisurely journey aboard the EuroStar. It was the perfect opportunity to settle into a comfy corner, put on my favourite playlist of French chansons, and let my imagination dance with dreams of cobblestone streets, charming cafes, and... yes, pink tutus!
Now, you're probably thinking, "Paris? Tutus? What's the connection?" Well, darling, let me tell you! The magic of a tutu transcends borders and languages. It's the symbol of grace, freedom, and of course, pure pink delight. It’s also my calling, my mission! I’m on a quest to get every single person to don a tutu, one pink feather boa at a time!
This weekend was a whirlwind of ballet, shopping, and French treats!
Day 1: Arriving in Style & Palais Garnier Glamour
As soon as I stepped off the train and onto the platform in Paris Gare du Nord, I was enveloped by that enchanting atmosphere, you know, the one where history whispers in the air. I'd decided to channel a bit of vintage Parisian chic, with a silk scarf, a little black dress (adorned with, of course, a pink bow!) and a charming beret. Naturally, my signature pink tutu (with its cloud-like tulle) was strapped around my bag, ready to be revealed when the moment called.
My first stop had to be the iconic Palais Garnier opera house. It's the epitome of Belle Epoque grandeur! As I walked through its gilded halls, the opulent chandeliers, velvet seating, and the incredible painted ceiling felt as though I'd stepped straight into a fairytale. My little heart couldn’t help but beat faster with anticipation. You can just imagine me standing on stage, with a spotlight catching the glimmer of my pink tutu. I may not be a famous ballerina, but it certainly feels that way sometimes!
In the evening, I finally got to see the performance I’d been waiting for: "La Bayadère"! It was just divine. The sheer elegance and power of the choreography, the mesmerizing sets, and the balletic finesse of the dancers… simply unforgettable! I couldn’t resist taking a photo for the 'gram, twirling in my pink tutu against the backdrop of the majestic Palais Garnier - picture-perfect, wouldn't you say?
Day 2: Montmartre & A Tutu-filled Picnic
Saturday, darling! My day started with a delightful walk through the cobbled streets of Montmartre. I picked up a fragrant bouquet of lilies at a charming flower market and then settled into a Parisian cafe for some croissants and coffee.
Later, I discovered the most enchanting spot - a tiny park with views of the Eiffel Tower. The perfect setting for a Parisian picnic, wouldn't you agree? And of course, I'd planned for this occasion - a picnic basket bursting with all my favourites. There was, of course, crusty bread, decadent Brie cheese, juicy red grapes, and my absolute favourite French delicacy - macarons! And the pièce de résistance? A sparkly, light-as-a-feather pink tutu for a spontaneous twirl under the Parisian sky! It was the most magical feeling!
The sun was setting, painting the Eiffel Tower a glorious golden hue. I sat there for hours, mesmerized by its beauty. It was like the entire city had been draped in magic! I snapped a few pictures with the Eiffel Tower as my backdrop, holding my pink tutu for a little “look at me!”
Day 3: Ballet Class & A Tutu-tiful Shopping Spree!
As much as I love a grand spectacle, sometimes, the simple pleasure of a ballet class is just as enriching. Today I sought out a lovely ballet studio tucked away in the charming Latin Quarter. As the music started, I joined a group of elegant Parisian women (dressed in elegant ballet leotards, mind you) for a graceful, heart-warming class. I felt the energy buzzing around the studio and for that moment, all the world’s worries faded away, replaced by a blissful sense of joy and creative expression.
I knew there was a certain French flair that was begging to be captured! I'd also had my eye on a gorgeous boutique filled with vintage dresses and sparkling jewels. And, of course, I couldn’t leave Paris without a little retail therapy, could I? You know I just couldn't resist buying a few new accessories to accentuate my love for pink! Imagine - a pink feathered headband for that vintage, French cabaret feel. I’m going to find a way to wear all this fabulousness, darling, I can feel it.
And as I wander through the Parisian streets, soaking in the magical ambiance of the city, a smile spreads across my face. My pink tutu has travelled to Paris and it’s had an amazing adventure.
As the Parisian sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the city, I found myself back at the station. Time to head back home to Derbyshire, carrying a suitcase brimming with souvenirs, memories, and of course, my trusty pink tutu. I'm already counting down the days till I can be back in Paris. I've already marked it in my diary!
Join me next week for another magical adventure, darlings. Until then, stay happy, be kind, and always wear your pink tutu with pride! 💕
Bisous, Emma
