Bonjour, mes amis! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, back with another instalment from my Parisian adventure! This week, I've swapped the rolling Derbyshire hills for the charming cobbled streets of the City of Lights – and believe me, I’m in absolute heaven! As you all know, my absolute motto is 'spread the pink tutu love' and there's no better place to do just that than the fashion-forward, romantic city of Paris!
Today, I woke up bright and early in my little Parisian apartment – it has a gorgeous little balcony where I can sip my coffee and watch the sun rise over the rooftops. Feeling incredibly energised from my sleep (Paris always seems to give me the most restful nights!), I packed my trusty pink tutu, my ballet flats, and a bag full of my favourite blush-toned outfit for the day (you can’t go to Paris without looking the part, darlings!). My outfit today features a delightful, lace-trimmed blouse with a delicate rose pattern, teamed with a gorgeous flowing maxi skirt in the most delicious shade of dusty pink. A light dusting of pink blusher on my cheeks and a pair of statement pink earrings are the finishing touches to my Parisian chic.
Eurostar: The Parisian Train Ride of Dreams
My journey started with a delightful ride on the Eurostar, that incredible train that whisks you to Paris in a mere 2 hours 15 minutes. Honestly, travelling on the Eurostar is always such an elegant experience. As the sleek, modern train speeds along, the countryside blurs into a charming canvas of fields and charming villages. This particular journey gave me a perfect chance to sit back, admire the changing landscapes, and write in my diary – my favourite pastime!
Parisian Dreams
The second I arrived in Gare du Nord, the famous station where the iconic Parisian metro is housed, I felt that familiar Parisian thrill: the promise of excitement and endless discovery! The scent of fresh pastries filled the air, the sounds of buskers and chatty Parisians created a melodious cacophony, and everywhere I looked, I saw incredible architecture that seemed to tell a story.
A Parisian Adventure for The Senses:
After I found my way to my apartment in the beautiful Montmartre area, I ventured out to find my perfect slice of Parisian charm. Today's itinerary involved an adventure for the senses! First on the list, a delicious traditional Parisian lunch at Le Bouillon Chartier – I was transported to 19th-century Parisian bistro culture with its incredible classic French cuisine. I enjoyed a generous helping of their famous steak frites, followed by a light and refreshing crème brûlée. (Let’s be honest, the real highlight was the giant pile of buttery French fries – every girl needs a little bit of potato heaven, wouldn’t you agree?).
Fashion Forward Paris
After a delightful lunch, it was time for a bit of retail therapy – Paris is, after all, a fashion paradise. You know me, a good pink tutu ensemble just can’t resist the call of a Parisian boutique. And today, I'm lucky because there’s a phenomenal market near my apartment on Saturday, packed with incredible French treasures: clothes, jewellery, hats, scarves, oh my! There’s even a stall dedicated entirely to beautiful handmade jewellery. I discovered the most beautiful rose quartz necklace with delicate charms. Perfect for completing my look!
Dancing My Way to Happiness:
This evening, I am beyond thrilled to have booked a ballet class in the heart of the city. Paris is the birthplace of some of the most phenomenal ballet dancers and choreographers in the world, so you can only imagine how excited I am! This particular class is focused on classical technique, with a real emphasis on fluidity and precision – just what I needed after a morning of shopping and sight-seeing. This class is hosted by a very experienced professional ballerina. Her teaching methods are truly inspired – you can see her dedication to both the art form and to guiding new generations of dancers. After a few hours of beautiful movement, my body feels so strong, supple, and totally energized!
Catching a Show: Le Lido Paris
Later tonight, I have booked tickets to see the world-famous Le Lido cabaret! The iconic costumes, the high-kicking dancers, and the opulent showmanship of Le Lido have made it a true icon of the Parisian cabaret scene. Tonight’s show promises to be a truly special spectacle - full of sparkling lights, incredible choreography, and enough sequins and feathers to make even the most seasoned fashionista weak at the knees!
The Pink Tutu Magic in Paris:
It’s amazing to me that Paris welcomes people of all styles and from all over the world. And my favourite part is that nobody here bats an eyelid when I step out in my pink tutu, especially on the streets of Montmartre! People in Paris seem to just embrace the artistic, whimsical energy of the pink tutu – which honestly just brings a smile to my face! Maybe the pink tutu really can bring joy to the world!
Travel Plans:
Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a little taste of Parisian history. I’ve booked myself a walking tour around the city’s most iconic sights for tomorrow. My goal is to be totally absorbed in Parisian art, culture and history. From the majestic grandeur of the Eiffel Tower to the enchanting stories hidden within the Louvre Museum – Paris truly is a wonderland!
