Paris, Je T'aime! - Pink Tutu Travels Post #1210
Bonjour, my darlings! Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad adventurer, back from the City of Lights with a suitcase overflowing with Parisian magic and enough fashion inspiration to fill a whole ballet studio!
This week, I decided to whisk myself away to Paris. Yes, I know what you're thinking, "Emma, isn't that a bit clichƩ? Another Paris post?" But hear me out, my lovelies, there's simply no place on earth quite as enchanting and chic as Paris, and a Parisian ballet-themed escapade is a dream I simply had to fulfil!
After all, this pink tutu has been longing for a taste of Parisian style and, well, let's be honest, a shopping spree. I hopped on the Eurostar - a much-needed upgrade from my usual ballet barre workout routine, I might add - and practically skipped across the Channel to the bustling Gare du Nord. That train ride? Let's just say I'm never going to look at a packed carriage the same way again - it was full of fashion inspiration! There were berets and stripes, a splash of rouge, and even a glimpse of a scarlet stiletto peering from beneath a chic black trench coat. Talk about fashion inspiration in a tin can, am I right?
First stop on the agenda, the legendary OpƩra Garnier. A grand building with breathtaking architectural details, it was like stepping back in time. As I wandered through the vast, intricate interiors, I could almost picture the gilded age ballerinas swirling across the stage.
For this weekend's post, I thought it would be fun to add a touch of "What's on" Parisian inspiration. Today, Saturday, March 4th, we have quite the lineup:
- "Le Lac des Cygnes" at the Palais Garnier: The ballet performance Iāve been eagerly anticipating! A must-see for any ballet enthusiast. Iāve already snagged myself the most fabulous box seat ā imagine, all the pink tutus twirling around me in this beautiful venue!
- Le Cirque dāHiver Bouglione: Not exactly ballet, but a spectacle in itself! An iconic circus that has captivated audiences for decades. Think magnificent acrobatics, flamboyant costumes, and a real sense of spectacle - a must-see for all ages!
- A walking tour around Montmartre: Iām planning to lose myself in the charming cobbled streets of this bohemian district, breathing in the vibrant energy of artistic cafes, tucked away studios, and, of course, the majestic SacrĆ©-Coeur Basilica. I expect a few candid shots of my tutu in this captivating setting, maybe a picturesque street cafĆ© stop with a cafĆ© au lait and a croissant? (Weāre aiming for elegant and sophisticated here, darling!).
Tomorrow, the Parisian ballet dreams continue, with:
- "Don Quichotte" at the OpƩra Bastille: This production, a romantic tale with intricate choreography and dazzling sets, has been a long time coming. I can't wait to get swept up in the passionate world of the story and witness the talent of these amazing dancers.
Sunday will be a leisurely day of exploration. I've got my eye on a few trendy Parisian boutiques I've been hearing whispers about:
- āAntik Batikā: My favourite type of French charm ā a touch of Bohemian chic.
- "Isabel Marant": I simply cannot resist a little touch of effortless Parisian cool! I have my heart set on a pair of their iconic ankle boots, they will be the perfect addition to any outfit!
- "A.P.C.": French minimal perfection. Iām expecting to find classic, wearable pieces with that unmistakable French "je ne sais quoi".
Then, naturally, it wouldn't be a true Paris trip without indulging in some French treats. I've heard whispers about a delicious bakery called āDu Pain et Des IdĆ©esā that specializes in stunning bread creations and decadent pastries - my little pink tummy is ready for a feast.
