Bonjour from Paris! (Blog Post #1213)

Oh, my darlings! I’m writing to you from the City of Lights, the very heart of fashion and romance – Paris! 🇫🇷✨
I arrived this morning after a glorious train journey on the Eurostar, a journey that I find absolutely enchanting – so much more charming than flying! I settled into my chic little hotel room, and let me tell you, it was everything! My travel essentials - my signature pink tutu, some beautiful ballet flats, and my trusty ballet bag filled with all my girly essentials - were perfectly placed around the room, making me feel completely at home.
I just have to tell you about my journey. I love travelling by train – the soft whirring of the wheels on the tracks, the gentle swaying as we pick up speed, and the chance to see the countryside change around you. As we zipped through the beautiful English countryside, I felt a sense of excitement growing inside me, an anticipation for the magic that Paris holds.
Speaking of magic… my trip is made possible by the sheer joy of dance. Every week, I perform in a local theatre back home in Derbyshire. This wonderful experience not only feeds my soul, it also provides me with the funds to embark on my travel adventures. And this time, my heart was set on Paris!
Now, Paris, my darlings, is a city that practically dances itself. You can practically hear the music in the air – the soft thrumming of buskers on the cobbled streets, the gentle tunes that float out from open cafes, even the hurried rhythms of Parisian life itself seem to follow a rhythmic pulse.
Today, my little pink-tutu-clad self went exploring. I found myself walking down the bustling streets of Saint Germain-des-Prés. The chic boutiques filled with clothes I could only dream of wearing. (Though, with a little bit of luck and a lot of creativity, who knows what I might create with my trusty sewing machine and a good ol’ dose of imagination?) The air was alive with laughter, chatter, and the distinct aroma of freshly baked bread – a real symphony of senses.
But this blog post wouldn’t be complete without talking about the Ballet! In just a few hours, I’m heading to see Le Corsaire, a classic ballet. Oh, I can hardly contain my excitement! This stunning ballet tells the tale of Conrad, a young sailor, and Medora, a beautiful slave, their journey filled with pirates, passion, and a whirlwind of spectacular dance moves. I can't wait to soak in the costumes, the music, and of course, the dancing! It’s a real feast for the soul!
I have to confess, a small part of me feels a little giddy just thinking about it. It's a whole world of pink and glittery goodness, isn't it?
As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the Parisian sky in soft hues of pink and orange, I’m already planning for tomorrow. I hear there’s a charming ballet school nearby, and I can't wait to step into their studio and maybe even try out a few graceful moves. I have to keep those legs in top form! 🩰
And of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without a little indulgence in its exquisite fashion scene! Tomorrow, I plan to wander through the shops of the Marais district, a haven of independent designers and unique vintage finds. I have a feeling a new tutu (or two) might be in my future!
Until then, darlings, keep twirling!
Love and glitter,
Emma
P.S. Did I mention I was thinking of a new line of pink tutus? With a touch of Parisian flair, of course. Ooh la la! Keep an eye on my website for exciting news. And, oh darling, don't be afraid to share your Parisian adventures with me - leave a comment and let me know your favourite things to do in the City of Lights. After all, sharing is caring, right? 😘
