Pink Tutu Travels: Paris, Je t'aime! #PinkTutuBlogParis
Bonjour, my lovely tutu-ettes!
It's Emma here, back with another Parisian adventure, and trust me, this one was truly magnifique!
This week, I'm bubbling over with excitement - Paris, my friends, Paris! It's a city that has always captured my imagination, swirling with romance, fashion, and of course, ballet. It was a dream of mine, to twirl in this enchanting city, and with this post, dream turned reality!
As a little girl in Derbyshire, Paris seemed so far away, a land of croissants and chic boutiques. Now, thanks to the magic of the Eurostar (yes, I took the train! The views from the carriage windows are just breathtaking!), I'm in the heart of it all.
It feels like I’m wearing a new tutu each day in Paris! Honestly, the fashion inspiration here is truly divine! Parisian style is a heady mix of chic minimalism, bold prints, and exquisite accessories. It's effortlessly stylish, and even my tutus seem to sparkle just a bit brighter against the backdrop of Parisian charm!
Saturday 2023-04-08 - A Ballet Lover’s Paradise
Paris, of course, is home to the legendary Opéra Garnier. Standing tall in its Neo-Baroque grandeur, the Opera House is a spectacle in itself! And it doesn’t get more elegant than ballet in Paris. I was fortunate enough to snag tickets to a performance of ‘Giselle’ at the Palais Garnier, an experience that transported me to a world of swirling tutus, passionate music, and incredible storytelling. I can’t deny, the Palais Garnier brought tears to my eyes - what a place to enjoy a ballet performance!
In between exploring the city, there was time to indulge in a little bit of shopping, of course. The Champs-Élysées, lined with luxury boutiques, is a treasure trove for a girl like me, but my favourite spot was the Marais district. Here, vintage fashion is king! I found a fabulous feather boa for just €15 – the perfect addition to my tutu wardrobe, wouldn’t you say?
And what is Paris without a dose of quintessential French pastries? Oh la la! My personal favourite is a buttery, flaky pain au chocolat. But don't worry, I also found room for some indulgent macarons. Pink ones, naturally! I mean, a Parisian afternoon is just not complete without pink delights, right?
A French Touch, a Pink Tutu, and a Dream Come True
Evenings in Paris are equally magical. There was the Seine River cruise - a sparkling Parisian evening with views of the Eiffel Tower, which was bathed in an ethereal golden glow. The gentle breeze in my hair, the twinkle lights illuminating the water, the city of lights...it felt like I was in a fairytale.
I’ve already filled countless pages in my travel journal with sketches of the buildings, the cityscapes, and the Parisian women, effortlessly chic in their outfits, adding to my style inspiration, my ultimate pink tutu-wearing manifesto. The Parisian lifestyle - strolling along the streets with a croissant in hand, soaking up the sun in a park, sipping coffee at a cafe - is something I am now aiming to integrate into my Derbyshire life. I’m already practicing my ‘je ne sais quoi’ at every opportunity.
It was so inspiring to be surrounded by creativity and art, so I have even taken some time for some Ballet à la Parisienne! The city’s energy seems to make even my pirouettes twirl with more elegance! Just imagine, all those gorgeous cafes with open terraces and sidewalk seating in this warm Paris springtime! They could be a perfect space for a spot of Ballet à la Street performance, wouldn’t you agree? Perhaps a pink-tutu flash mob, just for a few minutes, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Now, that would truly be the dream!
From the streets of Paris, a tutu-ful message to you all
Paris is more than a city - it's a feeling, a way of life. I'm leaving with a lighter step, my heart full of Parisian inspiration, and with a promise to wear my tutus with even more confidence, with a touch of Parisian ‘je ne sais quoi.’
But the best thing I learned on this Parisian journey? You can take the girl out of Derbyshire, but you can't take the tutu out of the girl! And that, my darling tutu-ettes, is something to be proud of!
Au revoir for now, and until next week, stay fabulous and keep twirling!
Emma x
