Pink Tutu Blog Paris - #1242
Bonjour, mon petit choux! It's Saturday, the 14th of October, 2023, and guess where your favourite tutu-clad travel enthusiast is? That's right, darling, Paris!
As I write this, I'm sipping on a cafe au lait, sat in a charming Parisian cafe with my trusty notebook and a stack of pink macarons (because, you know, always macarons). This trip is pure magic, and I'm going to fill you in on every last sparkly detail.
First, the journey! We whisked off from Derbyshire on the EuroStar, the epitome of luxurious train travel. Imagine, darling, sleek carriages, soft lighting, and a complimentary glass of champagne while you watch the rolling English countryside transform into the vibrant French landscape. It was truly a fairytale experience, enhanced only by my blush-pink satin tote and my favourite feather-trimmed pink tutu.
Now, as many of you know, I love ballet. Paris is a ballet paradise! We were fortunate enough to see "Giselle" at the Opera Garnier, and let me tell you, darling, it was breathtaking. The costumes, the dancing, the atmosphere - it was just pure magic.
We did a bit of ballet shopping afterwards, of course. It would be a travesty to come to Paris and not get a little tutu fix! The Parisian boutiques are brimming with stunning balletwear. I'm so happy to announce my latest purchase - a delightful ballet pink tutu, embroidered with tiny Parisian landmarks - an Eiffel Tower here, a croissant there! You'll see me flaunting it around the City of Lights this week, no doubt.
Speaking of lights, how could I talk about Paris without mentioning the Eiffel Tower? We strolled hand-in-hand up to the top, taking in the incredible views. I twirled on the viewing platform (naturally), wearing my shimmering blush pink skirt and matching pumps, while everyone watched on with admiration. It felt like a scene straight out of a Parisian ballet, wouldn't you agree?
Then there were the pastries, the cafe hopping, the cobbled streets lined with elegant boutiques and charming bookstores… oh, and let's not forget the gorgeous boutiques along the Champs-Élysées, where I bought a delightful vintage Parisian hat adorned with a plume of pink feathers (it was calling my name!)
Let me tell you, darlings, Paris has captured my heart all over again! I'm already planning my next trip and I have a hunch it'll be just as fabulous as this one.
Stay tuned for more updates on my adventures - I'm promising more stunning Paris photo galleries, a rundown of the best places to eat a delectable croque monsieur, and a glimpse into the heart of Paris. Don't forget, I'll be updating my blog with new posts every Saturday at www.pink-tutu.com - a perfect excuse for a weekly dose of pink sparkle and Parisian inspiration.
Stay fashionable, stay bubbly, and always, always wear pink!
XOXO, Emma
* A Closer Look at Today's Adventure: *As I promised, here's a bit more detail about our Parisian day. We were fortunate enough to attend a wonderful performance by the prestigious Ballet de l'Opéra National de Paris at the majestic Palais Garnier. "Giselle", a classic Romantic ballet, was utterly enchanting.
From the delicate steps to the grand allegro sequences, the dancers brought the story of the village girl and the heartbroken prince to life. Every detail of the performance, from the elaborate costumes to the dramatic choreography, was beautifully executed. The ethereal waltz scene in particular was pure enchantment! I caught a bouquet of roses thrown from the stage (that's my lucky day, I tell you!) and had to carefully place it on my tiny pink ballerina hat.
Now, Paris, of course, isn't all about the stage. After our show, we headed to the charming neighborhood of Le Marais, where the boutiques burst with fashion finds, vintage treasures and unique, eye-catching pieces that could inspire any ballerina's wardrobe. We popped into the famous Merci concept store, brimming with Parisian fashion finds. It’s one of those Parisian places where you just want to wander and imagine yourself twirling around a corner.
This evening, as I write this, we are just about to embark on a charming little dinner cruise along the Seine. Picture this: glittering lights, twinkling stars, and the magnificent views of Notre Dame Cathedral - a truly magical scene to complete a Parisian day.
Speaking of a magical Parisian day - did you know that it's World Ballet Day? Yes, it’s the perfect time to get our tutus spinning! I just finished taking a lovely class at the renowned Académie de Danse Internationale de Paris. My favourite move, of course, is a pirouette with a perfectly balanced pose on pointe shoes - the ballerina's secret to elegance and grace. We laughed and chatted afterwards while I sampled a delicate madeleine. Paris is the perfect place to celebrate all things ballet!
I’m leaving you now with a simple request, darling - make today about the grace and elegance of ballet. Spin around the room, channel your inner ballerina and find some happiness in the little joys that make your heart sing. It’s just as magical and elegant as a beautiful performance, only it's unique and entirely yours.
And remember, darlings, keep those tutus twirling!
**Until next week!
XOXO, Emma**
