Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! 🇫🇷💖

Post #1279 - Saturday, June 29th, 2024

Hello my lovely tutus! It's Emma, reporting live from the magical city of Paris. Yes, you read that right! I've finally touched down in the capital of romance and fashion, and let me tell you, it's absolutely everything I dreamed it would be. And to make things even more fabulous, I got here in style, gliding through the English Channel on the Eurostar - a train journey that's always a joy, with all its elegant compartments and delightful French pastries. 🚄🥐

This trip, dear readers, has been a long time coming. I've been planning and saving, twirling and dreaming of Paris ever since I first saw a picture of the Eiffel Tower at the tender age of eight. Who knew that years later, I would be strutting through its streets in a vibrant pink tutu, armed with my trusty camera and a love for everything Parisian?

Now, I know what you're thinking - a tutu in Paris? Does it clash with the chic Parisian vibe? Well, let me tell you, when you wear pink and you twirl with confidence, it doesn't just fit in, it adds a whole new dimension to the already magical atmosphere! This city thrives on expression and individuality, and I can't think of a more perfect way to embody that spirit than in a tutu.

The Journey to the Heart of Paris

After a delightful, albeit slightly too short, train journey from Derbyshire, we arrived in Paris Gare du Nord. I stepped off the train feeling that familiar twirl in my toes. You know that feeling, the one that makes you want to spin in circles and let the city whirl around you!

The Parisian air felt crisp and inviting, and the scent of freshly baked croissants wafted towards me, almost as if to welcome me to the City of Lights.

First Stop: Fashion!

There's no denying that I had to do some shopping the minute I arrived in Paris, the city that inspired the fashion icons I grew up idolizing! The streets were bursting with charming boutiques, their windows a vibrant symphony of colour and style. It's hard not to be swept away by the Parisian energy. I felt the Parisian style coming over me like a wave, and I could already envision the Parisian wardrobe I’m going to create for myself this trip!

Ballet Inspiration: An Ode to Parisian Art

You know me - a girl can't travel without seeing a ballet show! In fact, it’s the performances and workshops that enable me to indulge in these wonderful travelling adventures. I managed to score tickets to see La Bayadère at the Palais Garnier. The ornate setting, the incredible dancers, the sheer emotion… It left me speechless.

Oh, and the Palais Garnier itself? Absolutely magnificent. From the stunning grand staircase to the beautifully decorated interior, it felt like I had stepped right into the world of The Phantom of the Opera. This theatre is a treasure, a jewel of Parisian artistry and beauty, a temple for ballet lovers like myself. I could have sat there forever, watching the magic unfold on stage, taking in the beauty of the art form and its graceful power.

Exploring the City of Lights on a Sunny Afternoon

The following day, with a renewed sense of Parisian charm and a very full shopping bag, we decided to wander around the city. Paris has a distinct charm, a rhythm to it that gets into your heart and inspires a carefree joy that only a city steeped in history and romance can create.

We strolled through the romantic Tuileries Garden, stopping for a quick photo op beneath the iconic golden Ferris wheel. There was such an air of quiet joy here, it felt almost impossible not to break into a twirl under the warm Paris sun. I could feel the magical Parisian vibe seep into my soul and fill me with happiness.

The Iconic Eiffel Tower

Every trip to Paris has to include a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. We hopped on a bateaux mouches to get the perfect view of the tower and to witness the beautiful sunset from a different perspective. I snapped hundreds of pictures and recorded a short video, so make sure you catch the highlight reel on my YouTube channel, I will link the video at the end of the post.

Seeing the Eiffel Tower at sunset was something out of a fairytale, with its shimmering lights reflected on the river, and the city surrounding it twinkling like a star-studded canvas. It’s a truly unforgettable sight. This magnificent symbol of Paris held its own beauty and elegance. I stood in awe of its architectural grace, feeling incredibly grateful for the chance to see it with my own eyes.

Delicious Treats and Parisian Eats

We did indulge in some fantastic French food throughout the day, of course! I sampled some divine pastries at the patisserie near the Eiffel Tower and had the most decadent, melt-in-your-mouth macarons in front of Notre Dame. It was an absolute feast for my senses! Who needs to stick to a diet when you’re in Paris? 😋

A Farewell Twirl

We wrapped up the day with a walk through the Montmartre district, stopping for a warm cup of hot chocolate to beat the evening chill. As I looked back at the lit-up city, feeling content and full of joy, I realized how much this city has resonated with me. There's just something about Paris, it calls to my creative heart and leaves a sweet feeling of joy within me. I know, in my heart, that this will not be my last visit.

As I prepare for the journey back home, I can't help but reflect on the incredible moments we've shared. From ballet performances to fashion adventures, and romantic sunset walks, this trip to Paris has been a pure delight. Every memory feels like a chapter in a story that's yet to be finished.

Until next time, Paris, keep sparkling!

Emma xx
