Yes, I'm in Paris, and I can feel the romance and glamour already swirling around me. This trip was fuelled by a week of dazzling ballet performances in Nottingham - you know how I love to give back to the arts that have given me so much! The sound of applause still echoes in my ears as I sit on this plush train carriage, ready to delve into the vibrant Parisian scene.
Today, the Eurostar carried me smoothly through the Channel Tunnel, and within minutes, I found myself stepping out into the heart of Paris, a place that just feels magical. You know how I love the journey almost as much as the destination! Those sweeping countryside views, the comforting hum of the train, and a good book - pure bliss!
But it wasn't just the travel that had me feeling like a ballerina on a cloud of happiness; it was my pink tutu, of course! This one is a little different. I’m wearing a soft, shimmering, pink tulle skirt, like a delicate puff of fairy floss. It twirls effortlessly with every step, which just seems appropriate, don't you think? You know me and a good thrift shop, and with the help of my trusty travel guide and an excellent pair of pink ballet flats, I’ll be searching for Parisian treasures! Of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without indulging in the local culture. I’ll be spending this evening at the Theatre des Champs-Elysées, captivated by a breathtaking ballet performance.
Now, my lovelies, let’s start at the beginning... As I write this from a Parisian cafe overlooking the Seine, the morning is slowly melting into afternoon. Sunlight paints the city with a warm golden hue, highlighting the classic architecture and reflecting off the iconic bridges.
