Hello my darling tutu twirlers! It’s Saturday and I’m back with another post for my weekly Pink Tutu blog! Today we’re jetting off to the City of Lights, Paris! Yes, you heard me right – I’m dancing my way through the streets of Paris! This Parisian adventure marks my first time exploring the enchanting French capital and you know me, my beloved pink tutu has come along for the ride! It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu blog post without it, now would it? 😉
The EuroStar was as comfy and smooth as a dancer’s leap, whisking me across the Channel in the blink of an eye. You see, my darling readers, travelling by train is like a little ballet performance in itself! It's all about gracing those carriage seats, admiring the scenery, and enjoying a little light reading with my favourite book. As I write this, my trusty travel companion, a gorgeous ballet-inspired tote bag from a lovely boutique in Derby, is packed with essentials: my portable makeup mirror (I need to make sure my makeup is perfect for all the selfies, of course!), my trusty pink fluffy shawl (it doubles as a cute scarf and blanket) and, of course, my pink ballet flats! They were a bit of a last minute purchase in Harrods yesterday, I couldn’t resist! I love those little touches that bring a bit of my world into every aspect of my journey, even travelling!
And speaking of travel, did you know I fund all these amazing adventures by doing what I love most – dancing?! That's right! You can find me in the theatre or local community halls on most evenings, twirling my way across the stage, raising funds for my travels and hopefully inspiring others to embracing their inner ballerina! Who knows? Maybe someday, my pink tutu might even grace the stage at the iconic Opéra Garnier here in Paris! It’s certainly a dream I wouldn't mind turning into reality, and I believe with dedication and passion anything is possible.
Okay, let’s talk Paris! The sheer romance, the charming streets, the pastries and the croissants… it’s enough to make even the most serious ballerina blush! Everything here screams beauty and elegance. The moment I arrived, the Eiffel Tower peeking out amidst a whimsical Parisian sunrise, it felt as if a dream had become reality. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat!
My darling tutu twirlers, let me tell you - I have plans for some serious ballet explorations here. We’re going to see some amazing performances! My schedule’s jammed packed with everything from classical ballets like Swan Lake to more contemporary and modern performances - you can't miss the avant-garde, experimental stuff, trust me! I've also heard whispers about an incredible dance competition taking place right here in the heart of Paris! Oh, the thrill! I’m determined to catch as much as I can. Of course, the ballet experience isn't just about seeing shows. My trusty pink tutu will be hitting the dance studio, yes, I’m planning on getting my ballet fix by joining some classes, immersing myself in the French ballet world! I'm so excited to get lost in the rhythm and movement with talented dancers from around the world.
Now, on to the shopping, darling! Paris is a haven for fashion, an absolute paradise for a Pink Tutu gal like me. You wouldn’t believe the stunning array of ballet-inspired outfits, accessories and shoes – think soft pink chiffon, elegant tulle, and delicate bows galore! The colours, the styles, the endless inspiration! My favourite shop so far is a small boutique in the Marais district. They have a fabulous selection of pink tutus, imagine my delight!
But it's not just about the fashion, my loves. The Parisian cuisine is another masterpiece! Today I’m spoiling myself with the most divine crêpe at a café, followed by a luxurious cup of hot chocolate with real whipped cream! I can’t tell you how much I’m loving exploring the cute cafes and trying out all the delicious traditional French cuisine.
Of course, every Pink Tutu adventure has its challenges. Even for a seasoned ballerina like me, Paris, with its iconic cobbled streets, is an ankle-twisting affair! The charm is undeniable but sometimes a stiletto or even a ballet flat is just not the right footwear choice. So remember, darlings, travel in style, wear a pair of sensible walking shoes!
