Pink Tutu Travels: Paris, Je T'aime! (Post #1294)
Bonjour mes chéries! It's your girl, Emma, and this week, I'm waltzing straight into the heart of Paris! The City of Lights is practically glowing in my imagination, just waiting for my pink tutu to twirl through its cobbled streets and chic boutiques.
I arrived in style, of course, via the glorious EuroStar. There's something about hurtling through the Channel Tunnel, feeling the wind whisk my tutu around me as we race across the French countryside. It's like stepping into a fairytale!
The journey was a whirlwind of anticipation - sketching new outfits in my journal (a pink sequined tutu paired with a black beret? Ooh la la!), planning out my Parisian adventures, and trying to decipher the menu on the train in my terrible French (it’s really bad, like GCSE French level bad!) - which was hilarious, actually, even if I did manage to end up with an onion baguette instead of the ham and cheese I’d ordered!
Speaking of Paris… the first thing that struck me when we pulled into the Gare du Nord was just how stylish everyone looks! Parisians have such an innate, effortless cool about them. I couldn't resist trying on my Parisian look (that pink tutu paired with a black beret, obviously!) and feeling every bit the chic Parisian while strutting through the station.
But it's time to start the fun! The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, the Tuileries Gardens - I’ve got a whole week planned. Imagine a picture-perfect ballet photo in front of the Eiffel Tower in my brand new pink tulle skirt! My Instagram is already overflowing with #PinkTutuParis pics!
Today's itinerary is a little mix of culture and beauté! I've secured tickets to see a production of Giselle at the Palais Garnier (a little dream come true!). Just thinking about the gorgeous costumes and incredible dancing is making me want to leap right onto the stage myself! And after the ballet, I'm off to the Champs-Élysées for some window-shopping - and maybe a little detour into the boutiques. Imagine finding the perfect pink sequined bag or a pair of ballet flats that make my feet sing!
But no Parisian adventure is complete without some très chic cafe culture! My inner-fashionista can't wait to sip a latte on a sun-drenched terrace, observe the passers-by, and soak in the atmosphere.
Tonight, I’m treating myself to a spectacular dinner with views of the Eiffel Tower sparkling with a million lights! I’ve already found a little bijou (my French is getting slightly better - well, my translator app is amazing!) bistro in Montmartre with the most incredible views, complete with live piano music. I’ve been planning this Parisian dream for months, from the outfit (naturally a gorgeous pink tulle dress) to the feast - all to fit my Parisian princess vibe!
My Parisian adventure has just begun, and my pink tutu and I are ready to waltz through every corner of this magical city. So grab a glass of vin rouge, pull up a comfy seat, and join me as we explore the je ne sais quoi of Paris!
Stay tuned, darlings! More Paris fashion, food and fun is coming next Saturday!
Fashion & Dance Finds:
Where I'm staying:
The most adorable pink hotel in Montmartre - with views of the city, a roof terrace and an amazing champagne breakfast! I can’t share the details - it's a secret spot only for my pink tutu readers!
Things I've learned this week:
- The French don’t just say ‘bonjour’ but bonjour madame or bonjour monsieur when you’re speaking to someone (I’ve learnt this, of course, from a helpful local barista!).
- The locals love to watch people dancing, no matter where they are - on the metro, in cafes and even just on the streets! And there are so many incredible street performers with their unique take on Parisian chic!
And remember - everyone looks better in a pink tutu! It doesn't matter what the occasion, where you are, or your age! Spread the love of the pink tutu and let your inner ballerina shine!
