#PinkTutuBlogParis: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #1295)

Saturday, 19th October 2024

Darling readers,

It's a crisp Parisian morning, the air filled with the scent of fresh croissants and the joyous hum of a bustling city waking up. And, well, how could I possibly be any more delighted? I'm in Paris! Yes, that's right - your favourite pink tutu-clad, ballet-obsessed blogger has traded the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the romantic cobbled streets and grand architecture of the French capital.

The Magic of the Eurostar

It all began with a dreamy, almost-silent glide through the Channel Tunnel. It was like a magic portal transporting me from one world to another - leaving behind the bustling, ever-so-slightly grey, English landscape for a vista of sprawling green fields kissed by a golden autumn sun. The Eurostar always manages to weave magic, making those few hours vanish in a swirl of French cafe latte and carefully chosen podcasts. I always make sure I wear something fabulously comfortable (hello, cashmere trackies and my new cashmere pashmina!) and I bring my own supply of Pink Prosecco - because a bit of celebratory fizz always adds a little je ne sais quoi to a journey, wouldn't you say?

Paris, My Parisian Pink Princess

Oh, Paris, you enchant me every time. The moment the train pulled into Gare du Nord, the excitement surged. I'm sure you can all relate: that wonderful feeling of being somewhere new, buzzing with anticipation, a tiny sense of "oh my goodness, I'm here"! My trusty pink backpack (studded, of course - what else?) was slung over my shoulder, and within minutes, I was outside on the vibrant streets, my heart beating to the rhythm of Paris.

And then I saw it, the ultimate Paris moment: a quaint little patisserie with window displays like miniature works of art. Croissants, eclairs, macarons, millefeuilles - every possible pastry delicacy piled high. Needless to say, I indulged.

Ballet and Beyond - A Parisian Itinerary

I always plan my Paris trips with a mix of the classic and the slightly offbeat, blending famous landmarks with some secret treasures only the locals know about. This weekend is no different, and I'm absolutely thrilled to be heading to see "Giselle" at the Palais Garnier! (Of course I've booked the most spectacular seats - box seats with views fit for a ballet queen! ).

After all, Paris is a ballet enthusiast's dream come true! I already booked a spot at a ballet class at the famous Paris Opera Ballet School (quelle chance!), and of course, there's nothing quite like strolling past the glorious Opera Garnier building itself, all golden domes and breathtaking architectural splendor.

Speaking of magnificent buildings, on Sunday I'm off to explore the treasures of the Musée d'Orsay, with its wonderful collection of Impressionist masterpieces - what better inspiration for a budding artist than to immerse myself in the work of Degas, Renoir, Monet? I might just try my hand at capturing some Parisian scenes myself, armed with my favourite sketching pencils and my signature pink tutu! (You never leave the house without one, right? )

Fashion, Food & Fabulousity

A Paris trip wouldn't be complete without some fabulous shopping, wouldn't you say? And let's face it, my wardrobe is crying out for a Parisian update. I already have my sights set on some utterly charming boutiques hidden down quaint streets, where the shopkeeper knows exactly what will look divine with my ballet flats.

And speaking of divine, who can resist the culinary delights of Paris? It's going to be an extravaganza of fresh croissants, decadent patisseries, and melt-in-your-mouth crêpes (extra chocolate sauce, s’il vous plait!) My aim is to try everything from street food markets to traditional bistros and see just how much good food one tutu-wearing blogger can consume in a weekend! I’ll keep you updated, and be sure to follow my #ParisFood adventures on Instagram!

Oh, and don't forget: wear your pink tutus with pride!

Fashion Finds: This weekend I'm channelling Parisian chic, so expect a mix of effortlessly elegant pieces that combine the classic with a bit of whimsy. My new pink cashmere jumper (a total bargain!) has become my go-to item - I've already styled it three different ways with my signature tutu! I picked up a fabulous hat for a little vintage touch and a cute pair of blush pink ballerina flats for dancing around the cobbled streets. Oh, and did I mention I found a perfect Parisian-style beret in my favourite shade? (Don’t worry, you’ll see pictures on Instagram, so keep an eye out!)

And Now, a Parisian Pink Prosecco Toast! Let’s celebrate all the amazing things we have to look forward to in this week’s posts (fashion, food, fun, fabulousness!), with a toast to everything Parisian! Pink prosecco all round, darlings! Cheers!

I am going to keep this blog post more towards the 2500-word limit. However, remember you have the flexibility to edit, shorten, or change the order of things. It's your blog! You’re a ballet blogger and these are your words, your personality.
