#PinkTutuBlogParis - Saturday 2024-11-09: Ooh La La, Paris! (Post #1298)

Bonjour mes amies! It’s Emma here, bringing you another week of #PinkTutu adventures. Today I’m back in Paris – oh how I love this city! It’s always an absolute treat to come here, with the cobblestone streets, the elegant architecture, the cafes, the scent of freshly baked bread, the romantic air…and of course, the endless opportunities to twirl in a pink tutu!

I travelled by EuroStar this time. Now I know, I know, you're thinking, “Emma, surely you don't wear your tutu on the train?” Of course I do! But only a sparkly, short tutu – my travelling one! It makes for such fun pictures, especially with the EuroStar's plush red seats.

Speaking of sparkle, Paris is sparkling with events right now! My trusty notebook (you know, the one with all the pink sequins?) is filled with show schedules, and this week I'm seeing a couple of amazing shows! On Tuesday, I'm heading to the Opèra Garnier for a performance of "Giselle," a beautiful classic, so I’ll be sure to take some outfit snaps of my evening look – tutus and sequins are definitely the way to go! Then on Friday I'm off to Le Lido for the Moulin Rouge! I can't wait for a night of dazzling feathers, glamorous costumes, and jaw-dropping acrobatics – I might even find an excuse to whip out my pink tutu there!

But it's not all just about ballet. A visit to Paris wouldn't be complete without indulging in its fantastic shopping scene. From the elegant boutiques of the Champs-Élysées to the vintage treasures hidden in the Marais, I’m ready to hunt for that perfect piece to add to my Parisian pink-tutu wardrobe.

My Paris must-do's:

  • A trip to the Galeries Lafayette: It’s a majestic department store – perfect for a day of dreamy window shopping. The floral displays alone are a spectacle to behold! And then there's the food court on the top floor, with its incredible selection of cheeses and pastries. Bonjour, baguette and croissants!
  • A stroll through the Jardin des Plantes: It's such a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The greenhouses are filled with the most exotic flowers and plants, and it’s just delightful for a peaceful afternoon picnic. I just have to bring a pink blanket to spread out for maximum cuteness, naturally!
  • A trip up the Eiffel Tower: Iconic, breathtaking views, and it simply looks fantastic. Even more so with a pink tutu, right?
  • Exploring the Montmartre neighborhood: I adore the artsy, bohemian atmosphere and the beautiful views of the city from the Sacré-Coeur basilica. Montmartre feels like a fairytale.
  • Indulge in some Parisian patisserie: From the famous macarons at Ladurée to the decadent chocolate croissants from any number of local bakeries, a Parisian sweet treat is an absolute necessity. And if there's a pink macaron on offer, you know I'll be indulging!

Of course, every good Paris adventure has to involve a delicious lunch in a cute cafe, with some "un cafe au lait" and "une croissant." And maybe some people watching as I practise my elegant twirls while I enjoy the warm French sunshine – what’s a pink-tutu-loving ballerina to do?!

And speaking of twirling, this weekend, I’m taking my favourite Parisian ballet class – a delightful studio nestled in a quiet corner of Montmartre, filled with beautiful wooden floors and plenty of mirrors to check out my moves. There's a magic feeling to Parisian ballet that you can't find anywhere else. Maybe it's the romance of the city, maybe it’s the music, or maybe it's the fact that I get to show off my fabulous tutu while I perfect my grand jeté. But I promise to share a video for you, my little loves, so you can feel the Parisian ballet magic for yourself!

For this Parisian adventure, I packed my “Pink Dream” tutu (it’s made with layers of tulle that have delicate floral embellishments all over – it’s absolutely dreamy!). I paired it with my “Strawberry Kiss” crop top for a look that's feminine and fun – a perfect combination for exploring the City of Lights.

My pink tutu inspiration for the weekend:

  • For a day of shopping and cafe hopping - My "Pink Lemonade" tutu, a light and airy creation with a simple and elegant design. I’ll pair it with a casual white blouse, my trusty straw hat (for when the sun is shining) and my signature cherry-red handbag. This outfit screams "fun and playful."
  • For an evening at the ballet: I’ll bring out my "Champagne Bubble" tutu. It’s the most fabulous and flamboyant pink tulle, covered in glistening sequins and beads. It’s going to shimmer like the Paris night. To complete the look, I'll wear a soft silk scarf, a silver clutch, and sparkling heels.

And if you want a touch of pink-tutu magic in your own life, I'll give you a little challenge: this week, pick up a pink scarf or tie and wear it for an hour – that's all it takes to bring a little joy to your day!

And now, it’s time for me to grab my baguette, head to my favourite boulangerie for a decadent chocolate croissant, and enjoy this beautiful Paris afternoon!

See you next Saturday with more pink tutu adventures.

Bisous!

Emma
