Pink Tutu Blog: Paris, My Love! #1299

Bonjour from the City of Lights, my darling tutu-wearers!

It's Emma here, fresh from another EuroStar adventure, and let me tell you, the Parisian air is already sparking my imagination. This weekend is all about exploring, indulging, and, of course, embracing the pink-tastic wonders that Paris holds.

Now, you know how much I love trains. The rhythm of the rails, the gentle swaying, the opportunity to gaze at passing scenery… it's almost as dreamy as twirling in a tutu! This time, my journey was even more exciting, knowing that the Eiffel Tower and all those chic Parisian boulevards were just a whisker away.

As I step off the train, I feel that familiar sense of excitement. It's almost as if Paris has an extra sprinkle of magic. My suitcase (yes, I travelled with my special Tutu Trunk!) is already overflowing with ideas for this week's adventures. We'll be exploring the Parisian ballet scene, obviously - can you imagine, a week without a ballet class or show? My toes are practically tap dancing just thinking about it!

Oh, and did I mention shopping? There's no shortage of delightful Parisian boutiques for me to unleash my inner fashionista. From the latest haute couture creations to vintage treasures waiting to be rediscovered, I know there will be pink treasures just waiting for me to discover!

And what a glorious day it is to be here. I haven't quite finished unpacking, but I already know this Saturday is going to be magnificent! A leisurely breakfast at a Parisian patisserie filled with pink macarons? (It's called research, darling, just for the blog, of course!).

Speaking of which, what's on the agenda?

My Pink Tutu Adventures:

  • A Parisian ballet class! (Yes, even on a Saturday. Just picture it, all those graceful Parisians dressed in elegant pink tutus - I'm positively quivering with anticipation!).

  • The Jardin des Plantes - a beautiful Parisian park I’m hoping for some beautiful photos in my latest tulle masterpiece. Maybe the Parisian pigeons will pose for a photo with me? (Stay tuned for the blog update! ).

  • An evening at the Opéra Garnier - The Palais Garnier - It’s a breathtaking sight! What could be more fabulous than an evening ballet show in this historic and beautiful Parisian opera house. I’m already practicing my French "Je voudrais un ticket, s’il vous plaît."

Fashion in Paris

If you follow my blog you know how important fashion is to me. The Parisian style is chic, minimalist and elegant - but sometimes, the best style is the boldest. That's where the tutu comes in! My secret to being the ultimate fashionista? Embrace the pink, wear the tutu, and be confident. It’s about embracing what makes you happy and unique, right? And of course, the city of love is the perfect place to express your own unique sense of style.

Keeping it Pink and Fun:

Of course, the journey itself has already been a pink dream. The Eurostar carriage felt like a giant tulle confection, and I even managed to score a window seat for some fabulous, uninterrupted pink-hued photo ops. Just remember, ladies, even a journey of a thousand miles can be fabulous, especially with a little bit of pink tulle along for the ride.

My little secret, though, is that it's my ballet performances that help me afford these incredible travels. And let's be honest, what could be a more perfect way to finance my adventures than twirling across a stage in my pink tutus, sharing the joy of dance with everyone. I can’t imagine my life without dance and music and travelling!

I have so many stories and photos to share - stay tuned. I’ll be adding more to this blog post as I get through the day! In the meantime, feel free to leave your own Parisian wishes or suggestions for pink tutu adventures. Let's make this the most fabulous pink-filled Paris adventure yet!

Until next time, stay happy, stay pink, stay fabulous!

(Day two update!)

Okay, Tutu-tastic Friends,

This little blog bunny can't believe how quickly the Parisian hours have been flitting by.

I started my day with the most delicious and picturesque breakfast. Imagine, dainty pastel pink macarons (some with delicate swirls of silver) , fresh pastries with pink strawberry jam, and a perfectly frothed café au lait – it's everything I ever imagined Parisian breakfast to be. The café was called “L'Art de la Pâtisserie," (The Art of Pastry!), which felt incredibly apt - just like ballet, there is a real art to creating the perfect macarons, I decided, as I savoured the melt-in-my-mouth sweet deliciousness. The pink ones were especially yummy, obviously.

After a quick stop at the local marché, filled with fragrant herbs, bright flowers, and fresh produce that could rival any painting in a Parisian gallery, I headed for a little Parisian escapade.

I was already feeling utterly inspired and knew it was time for some serious tutu shopping. Yes, you read that right! Every city has a special charm for a tutu shopper, and I have discovered a little Parisian shop - it's called "Les Envolées" and has rows and rows of colourful, sparkly, voluminous tutus, from all shapes and sizes - it's practically a dream for a pink-tutu obsessed girl. Imagine my delight, you sweet things!

I tried on several beauties, all a delightful riot of color, textures and sparkle. Of course, there was a classic black tulle one for some black swan vibes (yes, this black one will go beautifully with my feathered crown!). One was a glorious sky blue tulle - like something out of the “Sleeping Beauty" ballet, and a fluffy, bubble-gum pink, a definite “Barbie meets ballerine" vision (definitely perfect for a summer picnic at the Eiffel Tower!). [insert a image of several tutus hanging from the shop.]
I think I might be a bit pink obsessed! Don’t worry though, my wardrobe will be bursting with colourful tutus and ballet-worthy costumes very soon - all perfectly documented for your viewing pleasure, my darlings.

Afternoon Delights

Of course, a visit to a Parisian bakery and a little tutu shopping deserved a little indulgence. As a treat to myself, I found a little cafe overlooking a charming square and tucked into some French fries (they call them "frites," here) - crisp and salty with a creamy béarnaise dipping sauce! It's my go-to treat for when I've found a special pink gem in a shop.

La Sorbonne

Then I spent the afternoon exploring La Sorbonne University. It's absolutely breathtaking! The cobblestones, the classical architecture, the little nooks and crannies for enjoying a coffee, a book, or simply watching the Parisian world pass by…. This historic university oozed history and academic magic. I almost imagined the iconic French scholars and writers once walking the halls - inspiring dreams of creativity.

La Promenade des Anglais

This evening, I’m wandering around the Seine, taking in the city lights - I’ll get another amazing picture for the blog tomorrow. The Seine, it's a scene of Parisian romance.

It’s been an incredible day filled with pink delights - all with a sprinkling of Paris’s unique blend of sophistication, romance, and, let’s face it, fashion. And I know the next day is just going to be more fabulous - I’m already planning my afternoon ballet class.

I will tell you all about my day tomorrow, I have a little pink tutu dress waiting to be shown off tomorrow morning….

See you back here, soon!

XOXO Emma
