Bonjour mes chéries! It’s Saturday, and you know what that means… It’s Pink Tutu Blog day! I’m so excited to be posting from the City of Lights – Paris! I took the Eurostar on Thursday – my favourite way to travel! The journey always feels like a little adventure, and the views as we zipped through the countryside were gorgeous. There's just something about train travel that makes me feel like a proper ballerina, even without the tutu (though I did get a few funny looks!).
My Paris adventures officially started on Friday, and it was amazing! I popped straight out of the Gare du Nord in my gorgeous new pink beret and pink dress and headed to the iconic Place de la République. I can't even begin to tell you how Parisian I felt! Even the pigeons seemed chicer than usual.
First on my agenda, after a much-needed pastry and a cheeky glass of rosé, was a visit to the beautiful Opéra Garnier. I’m a total sucker for architecture, and the Palais Garnier was a feast for the eyes. It’s like something out of a fairy tale, just imagine dancing on that incredible stage! Even if I wasn’t on pointe, it definitely had me feeling like a princess!
Later that afternoon, I joined a Ballet Street class with some lovely French girls and wow, did we have fun! The studio was bright and airy with the smell of lavender – my absolute favourite scent! We learned a beautiful new routine inspired by the Parisian streets. Think, graceful steps with a touch of Parisian flair.
Of course, no trip to Paris is complete without indulging in some fashion. Now, this was where the fun really began! I spent the rest of Friday afternoon wandering through the chic boutiques of the Marais, my eyes widening with every beautifully designed window display. And guess what I found? A blush-pink tutu with sequins! I just knew it was meant to be.
Saturday morning was dedicated to more exploring and oh-my-goodness, did I find the cutest cafe near the Seine! Picture this: pastel pink umbrellas, adorable wrought iron furniture and an amazing selection of pastries, perfect for watching the world go by with a fresh macaron and a cup of tea.
This afternoon I'm catching a ballet performance at the Opéra Garnier, featuring some of the best dancers in the world. You guys know how much I love watching live ballet performances. It's absolutely breathtaking to witness such elegance and artistry in action. I've got my camera charged, ready to capture every stunning moment.
Now, let me tell you a little secret. You guys know how much I love everything pink! It's no secret I believe that the world would be a brighter place if everyone wore pink tutus, even if just for a day! This week I’m planning on spreading a little pink joy around the City of Lights! Imagine the Eiffel Tower, pink-tutu clad, with the most beautiful dancers performing on its iconic platform – wouldn’t that be magical?
Stay tuned for more Paris adventures coming next week! In the meantime, let me know in the comments what you think is the most glamorous Parisian look for a ballet blogger! What colours would you choose, what kind of tutu, and of course, the most elegant footwear for exploring the City of Love?
And remember, never be afraid to add a touch of pink to your world!
Love,
Emma
