Bonjour, mes chéries!
It's your girl, Emma, back from the City of Lights, and I am positively bursting with Parisian adventures to share. Today, we're diving headfirst into the latest installment of my pink-tutu-filled travelogue - Paris, in all its glory!
It's Saturday morning here, the air is crisp, and I can hear the faint strains of an accordion playing a Parisian melody from the street below. The Eiffel Tower sparkles in the sunlight, and the smell of fresh bread from the boulangerie next door is making my stomach rumble.
For this trip, I decided to channel my inner Parisian chic, complete with a brand new pink tulle skirt – it's so voluminous! This beauty came from my favourite vintage boutique back in Derbyshire, and I've been planning this trip for months! The perfect accompaniment? A pale pink beret, a la Audrey Hepburn. Let's just say my camera roll is exploding with delightful photos!
Speaking of adventures, I arrived in Paris last night, feeling every bit the glamorous traveller. The EuroStar journey was pure bliss - I love the speed and comfort of those sleek silver trains! As usual, I had my ballet bag by my side, because let's face it, even on holiday, a good plie or two is essential for staying fit. (Not to mention the killer leg workout the suitcase handle gives you!)
My first Parisian day began with a splendid coffee and croissant at a quaint café nestled amongst charming Parisian boutiques. After all, one must fuel their shopping expeditions! Next, I ventured to the gorgeous Galeries Lafayette for a delightful dose of Parisian fashion. From Dior's stunning couture creations to the whimsical wonderland that is the children's department (seriously, I almost bought everything!), my eyes were overwhelmed with delight.
And what better way to celebrate all things pink than a visit to Pinko?! It’s an absolute must-visit for any pink lover, trust me. Imagine a boutique where everything is pink, everything is beautifully displayed and all the shop assistants wear the most chic Parisian ensembles. Oh my, my heart almost burst with happiness. And the best part? I found the most divine, fluffy, and yes, PINK sweater. Talk about a dream come true!
But Paris is so much more than just shopping. This city is an absolute haven for culture, and this week's schedule is packed to the brim with Parisian brilliance! First up, "La Bayadère" at the Palais Garnier. Oh, the sheer beauty of classical ballet, the breathtaking sets, the passionate performances. The tutus? Honestly, they were works of art in their own right! My heart swelled with joy, and I couldn't help but sneak a few extra pirouettes when I left the theater, my pink tulle swishing behind me.
But the beauty of Paris isn't just confined to the grand theatres. The city itself is a vibrant, colourful stage! In the evening, I ventured to Montmartre for a charming street performance featuring some phenomenal ballet dancers. The cobblestones acted as their stage, and the setting sun bathed the performance in a warm golden glow.
The energy, the grace, the joy...it was an experience I'll cherish forever. You know I had to capture it all on camera, and let me tell you, it's gonna make one fantastic blog post when I get back home!
And my adventures are far from over! Today, I'm diving into the fascinating world of French haute couture. I'm hoping to catch a sneak peek into a workshop and perhaps learn some design secrets from a Parisian master. Oh, and did I mention that there's a delightful Pinkalicious themed exhibition happening at a museum in the 7th arrondissement? Talk about a girl's dream!
This evening, I’ll be soaking up the atmosphere at a traditional Moulin Rouge show – all the glitz, glam and, of course, red tutus! I'm just praying they'll let me dance on stage!
