Well, darlings, you’ve got it! I’m finally in Paris! The Eurostar journey whizzed by, as always – those sleek trains are just magic. I practically floated off the carriage into the heart of the city, a perfect pink tutu swirl in the crisp Parisian air! I can’t wait to show you everything…
You’ll all know by now that I absolutely adore travelling. It’s in my very essence to explore and be inspired. What better place to do it than in this utterly breathtaking city? It’s truly magical, a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and fashion that tickles every single pink tulle feather on my soul!
Paris has always been a dream destination for me, but even my wildest imaginations didn't come close to how dazzling it really is. You can just feel the passion in the air here, from the lively Parisian cafes to the grand avenues and even the bustling metro stations!
My travel wardrobe, of course, is bursting with pretty pink pastels and floral delights. My trusty pink tutu has pride of place (what else?), paired with a crisp white blouse and a delicate vintage beret. And wouldn’t you know it, my sparkly ballerina flats are an absolute match for the twinkle in every Parisian’s eye!
But before I dive into all the wonderful things I've been doing… let's chat about how I'm funding my trip!
For the lucky ones who haven’t heard, I'm actually funding my entire trip through the magic of ballet! Every weekend, I take the stage at different theatres and community centres in Derbyshire, twirling and pirouetteing my heart out. Each performance is a tiny masterpiece, a sprinkle of pink tutu joy that allows me to travel and explore the world.
A Bit About Today
We woke up to a beautiful sunrise – it felt like Paris was lighting up its streets with golden hues, making the entire city shimmer. We enjoyed a simple but lovely breakfast at the hotel – crusty bread, croissants (a must!), creamy yoghurt, and some seriously delicious fruit. It felt so French!
After packing our bags for the day, we strolled through the charming streets around our hotel – just soaking in the ambience, and admiring the window displays of the shops! They are SO French – think elegance and chic but also whimsy and beauty. The city is just oozing creativity! I’m planning on showing you some of my favourite shops later in the week.
This afternoon, we’re making a beeline for a show I’ve been excited for ages! You'll be shocked – we're heading to the Folies Bergère – the iconic cabaret that has been captivating the world for centuries. Think Parisian glamour, high-energy dances, and, dare I say, possibly even a pink tutu! wink
In the evening, we’re going to take a leisurely stroll around the Place des Vosges. It’s known for its grand architecture, gorgeous manicured gardens and the lovely charm that I hear is a perfect representation of what Parisian life is all about!
Speaking of Paris
I've only been here for a short time, and already the city is enchanting me. Paris feels like it has its own heartbeat, a constant pulse of life. From the bustling markets where local Parisians buy their fresh produce, to the museums that whisper history and art from every wall, it truly feels like a city that never sleeps. I've even managed to find a tiny vintage shop that's stocked full of fabulous fabrics that would make any dancer’s heart sing!
The most wonderful part? Every corner seems to be bursting with beauty, from the little hidden cafes with their charming outdoor tables, to the grand landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum, that seem to hold history in every brick. I have to be honest - there’s not a dull moment in this city. I'm in love.
My Outfit
I must say, a girl can’t help but embrace the fashion here. Today’s outfit was a vibrant pink tulle tutu, naturally. It’s one of my newer creations - it has beautiful layers of hand-stitched pink feathers on it – very delicate! I paired it with a flowy cream top that drapes elegantly over the skirt. For shoes, I’m sporting a pair of beautiful pearl-encrusted ballerina flats, which were a vintage find, a little gem I found in the French Quarter on a side street. My entire look was completed with a tiny silk scarf with a floral print I bought at a Parisian flea market and a wide-brimmed straw hat for the day, and of course, I’ve made sure to incorporate a touch of that Parisian chic, which has already started rubbing off on me - you know, a bit of sass and a whole lot of style. I just feel so fabulous in my own skin - a ballerina in paradise!
What’s next for Emma?
I’ve been thinking, my little loves, maybe I could ask all you beautiful, fashionable, fun souls out there: What do you want me to show you? Tell me what you want me to explore, what hidden Parisian secrets I should discover, and which little corners I should peek into!
Paris is my playground, and you are all invited to join me on this fabulous journey! Just head over to my website, www.pink-tutu.com, or leave me a comment under this blog post.
Sending you a big pink tutu hug and kisses from the city of lights!
