Bonjour, mes amis!
It’s Saturday, the 18th of July 2026, and I’m back with another Parisian adventure! This week has been pure Parisian magic. The City of Lights has cast its spell once again, and my heart is brimming with a happiness only achievable in this magnificent city.
First, a big shout out to the Eurostar! My journey to Paris was, as always, a dream. The smooth ride through the French countryside, the sleek train compartments, the delicious pastries - it’s no wonder this is my preferred mode of transport. I do have to confess though, my pink tutu created quite a stir on the train. The French have such a chic sense of style, but I think I introduced a splash of fun they weren’t expecting!
Speaking of fun, Paris never disappoints. This week I had a simply divine ballet class at the École de Danse. My Parisian friends in the class laughed and cooed over my pink tutu - it seems even ballet purists appreciate a bit of flamboyant flair. We learned a gorgeous contemporary piece set to Debussy, and let me tell you, those final arabesques overlooking the Seine River felt magical!
After my class, I found myself indulging in a spot of Parisian shopping. The Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is just my cup of tea. From designer boutiques to quaint antique shops, it was a whirlwind of textures, colours and exquisite creations. Did I mention I bought myself a pair of fabulous pink pumps that practically screamed, "Parisian chic"? It was like they were made for me!
Later that evening, I felt the irresistible pull of the Palais Garnier. It's hard to believe such a breathtaking structure exists in our modern world, a place where the opulence of the past lingers, and dreams are spun on a stage bathed in glittering chandeliers. I caught a stunning performance of "Giselle." The dancers, the costumes, the sheer brilliance of it all - I left completely enchanted.
Of course, no Parisian escapade would be complete without experiencing the city's iconic food. I've been sampling delightful treats at local boulangeries, indulging in delectable crêpes, and enjoying authentic French pastries with a cup of steaming hot chocolat chaud. It's all so utterly delicious and oh so charming.
And did you know? Tomorrow is Bastille Day! Oh la la, how could I forget? The atmosphere is electrifying with excitement! I’ve planned a special Pink Tutu Outfit for the day, naturally. I am talking about a hot pink tutu, a Parisian-inspired beret with a little feather boa draped around the brim, a white lace blouse with a chic black blazer, and the aforementioned pink pumps. It will be spectacular!
As I reflect on this past week, I realise my love affair with Paris intensifies with every visit. I’m continually inspired by its beauty, its cultural vibrancy, its joie de vivre. There’s no place like Paris, my friends, no place quite like Paris!
