Bonjour mes amis! It's Saturday, 11th July, and Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-clad travel enthusiast, bringing you another weekly dose of fabulousness straight from the heart of Paris! I can barely contain my excitement, because I'm finally in the City of Lights! After a whirlwind journey from the rolling green hills of Derbyshire on the Eurostar - the ultimate train adventure, if I do say so myself - I'm now whisked into the chicest city on earth, and guess what? This pink tutu is ready to explore!
This trip, as always, is funded by the magic of ballet. You see, my lovely readers, I'm not just a tutu-wearing fashionista, I'm a passionate ballerina too! And last week, I had the absolute pleasure of performing in a special charity event showcasing the best of contemporary dance, earning me enough pennies to waltz straight into this Parisian dream. So, thank you to everyone who came and cheered me on, and for those of you who haven't yet discovered the joy of watching a live performance, I highly recommend making it a priority. There's nothing quite like the energy of the stage!
A Parisian Debut
Now, back to the dazzling streets of Paris! You guys know my ultimate aim in life is to encourage everyone to embrace the joy of the pink tutu, and believe me, Paris is already doing a pretty good job of that! Everywhere you look, there's an explosion of colour and creativity – from the vibrant boutiques overflowing with the latest designs to the street artists turning forgotten corners into works of art. The city feels alive with a kind of elegant rebellion, and that's exactly what I love about it.
As soon as I stepped off the Eurostar and into the Gare du Nord, I knew I was home. Paris is my kind of city – a place where fashion, culture, and history intertwine like the threads of a perfect silk scarf. There's an effortless, sophisticated air that whispers of glamorous evenings at the opera, long lunches at quaint cafes, and stolen moments amidst enchanting gardens. And it all comes together beautifully for a traveller like me.
The Pinkest Paris Itinerary
My pink tutu and I have a busy itinerary packed full of Parisian delights, all geared towards making this trip a memorable experience. But worry not, my dears, because I'm here to share it all with you!
- Saturday: This evening, I'm going to be treating myself to an exquisite French feast at a very chic bistro tucked away in a secret little courtyard. I'm so excited for their signature soufflé – I can almost taste the buttery sweetness already!
- Sunday: Let's just say, I'm finally getting my Paris ballet fix. After all, what's a tutu-wearing ballerina to do in Paris without catching a show? Tonight, it's the Royal Ballet of London performing at the Palais Garnier, and trust me, it's going to be sensational! If you happen to be in Paris on Sunday, do yourself a favour and book tickets - you won't regret it!
- Monday: The week starts with a shopping spree! The Marais district is calling, and I'm not going to let it down! It's a haven for unique finds, hidden treasures, and designer delights. Expect my blog to be filled with pictures of vintage fashion gems and my newest Parisian pink-tutu purchases!
- Tuesday: The streets of Paris are our stage today. I'm getting ready for a vibrant dance session at the Jardin du Luxembourg – it's the most picturesque setting for ballet practice! I'm sure the passersby will appreciate the unexpected show, and perhaps I can inspire some to ditch their usual attire and put on a tutu or two for the day!
- Wednesday: Art, fashion, and deliciousness collide in my favourite arrondissement, Saint-Germain-des-Prés. We'll be wandering through charming streets lined with galleries and art shops, taking in the beauty of classic masterpieces and avant-garde pieces alike. And, of course, no Parisian adventure is complete without indulging in a perfectly-prepared café au lait at one of the many charming cafes, while sketching inspiration for my next outfit!
- Thursday: After all the walking and shopping, a trip to the Tuileries Gardens is just what the doctor ordered! I'll be having a relaxing picnic with some delicious local treats, taking in the views of the Louvre, and maybe even trying my hand at sketching some Parisian charm in my journal. Who knows, I might even spot a graceful swan or two!
- Friday: It's the grand finale! This evening is reserved for a trip to the Moulin Rouge! Oh la la, I can hardly wait! We'll be dazzling under the famous red windmill, enjoying the dazzling performances, and letting the spirit of Parisian glamour wash over us. It's going to be absolutely magical!
