Well, hello darlings! It’s Emma here, and I’m absolutely buzzing to be back in Paris, the city that holds a special place in my heart. The last few years have been whirlwind tours of exciting destinations across Europe, but this city never fails to fill me with that "oh la la!" feeling.
This week I've been twirling my way through the French capital, and it's safe to say I'm already completely smitten. The romance of the city, the enchanting charm, the chic fashion...Paris really is a dream. Oh, and I can't forget about the divine pastries! ?
Now, let me tell you about how I got here. This week’s journey started at St. Pancras station, that magnificent cathedral of travel in London. Stepping onto the EuroStar, I felt that familiar thrum of excitement building within me. It's like stepping into a glamorous film! I know I’ve said it before, but there’s nothing quite as magical as crossing those borders on the Eurostar. This trip has been a long time in the planning, and I’ve been chomping at the bit to come back ever since last time.
As always, I’m decked out in my signature pink tutu. It’s a bit more demure this time, a sweet pastel shade that blends in perfectly with the pastel hues of the city itself. It wouldn’t be right for me to be in Paris without some elegant accessories, so naturally, I’ve chosen to wear a chic headband to accentuate the graceful movement of my little twirls. It wouldn't be right to not be wearing at least a little sparkle in Paris either so a crystallised ballet bag has been added to my look, so I'm definitely on-trend here, with just a hint of my whimsical personality, of course. ?✨
Speaking of on-trend, have you seen what the Parisians are wearing lately? The chicest ensembles, all in tones of cream, pale pinks and elegant greys! Paris always manages to make the classics look fresh and oh-so-fabulous. And trust me, I've been taking plenty of notes for my wardrobe back in Derbyshire!
Now, let's chat about what I've been up to so far in my Parisian adventure. Today, November 14th, has been filled with all the loveliness Paris has to offer.
My morning started at the beautiful Musée d'Orsay, with a delectable breakfast of croissants and coffee just before. This iconic museum is an art lover’s paradise, especially if you have a penchant for Impressionist paintings. Today, the museum's exhibition on Renoir’s landscapes captivated my heart. The delicate brushstrokes, the warm colour palettes, it truly had me spellbound. The way Renoir used colour to capture the Parisian atmosphere was mesmerising. The sun dappled through the windows and cast a glow across the artwork, and even though the painting was in black and white I felt like I was actually in the French countryside myself. It's easy to see why he was one of the most important Impressionist artists of all time!
*Afternoon Delights: *
Lunch was at a quaint little cafe on Rue de Rivoli, where I indulged in the most delicious tartine with goat’s cheese and honey - divine! The cafe's charming setting, surrounded by flower boxes bursting with beautiful blooms and laughter in the air, made it feel like I was part of a storybook. I watched as Parisian locals rushed about their daily errands, the men with chic scarves and berets, and the women in timeless outfits and classic French shoes. There’s something very chic about their approach to life. The elegance with which they manage to make it look effortless really is incredible.
Next up was a visit to the grand Galeries Lafayette. This stunning department store is a marvel of Parisian architecture, and even just the building is worth a visit! Stepping inside is like being transported into a world of opulence. Rows upon rows of exquisite designer clothing, a glorious display of perfumes and, my personal favourite - the entire top floor devoted to a heavenly collection of home decor! It was so tempting to buy everything but I had to resist! It’s definitely a place that truly satisfies that love of everything pretty. It really was like a dream.
I did of course find myself drawn to the beautiful ballet shoe section in one of the department stores and couldn't resist bringing home a pair of the prettiest pink ballet shoes I’ve ever seen. You never know when you’re going to need to unleash a little bit of ballet magic, especially in a city as magical as Paris.
Later this afternoon, I went to a traditional Parisian boulangerie to stock up on some freshly baked croissants and baguettes for the ultimate picnic in the park. (It's always such a treat!) You see, my tutu loves to twirl in gardens and parks, so this evening will be a time to bask in the golden glow of the late Parisian sunshine whilst enjoying the quintessential Parisian pastime. The perfect end to the day, if you ask me!
As the day has come to an end, the moon is already out in Paris, which seems to add even more enchantment to this incredible city. It's magical. I’m feeling content and completely relaxed after a long day in the French capital.
But there’s still so much to explore. Tomorrow’s itinerary includes a trip to the Eiffel Tower, followed by a delightful French dinner in the heart of the Latin Quarter! And of course, I'll be wearing my favourite pink tutu, because what else is a tutu for, if not to twirl your way through life's greatest adventures?!
Stay tuned for next week’s blog post, and until then, remember, it’s never too late to twirl! ??

Did You Know?About Ballet & Parisian Style! Did you know that the iconic ballet shoe "pointe" originated in 17th-century Paris? And that ballerina shoes have become the staple accessory of Parisian style and fashion, ever since? Parisian fashion continues to influence styles all over the world, and even with their effortlessly elegant styles, it seems they never tire of wearing elegant ballerina shoes! Maybe that's because these shoes embody the joy of a ballet performance - a graceful combination of tradition and creativity - a beautiful and artistic interpretation of femininity, a unique way to embrace both the timeless classics of elegant footwear and a modern approach to femininity! ?
