Hello everyone and welcome back to Pink Tutu Blog Paris! It’s post number 1412 and my, oh my, it feels like Paris has completely swept me off my feet once more! You’ve probably guessed from the title, but I’m right here in the City of Lights, breathing in the romance and taking it all in – every gorgeous street corner, every delectable croissant, every twinkle from the Eiffel Tower.
Today’s adventure began bright and early, or well, early by my standards - I’d say about 9.30am. You know, enough time for a good, strong coffee (oh, Paris cafes are just the BEST!), a pastry or two (a little cheeky croissant never hurts, eh?), and, of course, a twirl or two in my newest pink tutu. I always say, every day is a ballet performance! And that brings me to my fabulous journey here to Paris! As you lovely lot know, I fund my travels with my performances – so many beautiful audiences across Derbyshire, the Midlands and further afield!
Eurostar Magic
Speaking of travel, this time I took the Eurostar from London – and let me tell you, the journey was truly a delight. All the glamour, speed and excitement of being whisked away from one incredible city to another. It always makes me think of a graceful ballet dancer, gliding across the stage. Just think, from my quaint Derbyshire home, a place I’m proud to be from, to the romantic and oh-so-chic Paris in under 3 hours – pure magic!
I was excited for Paris to come, so my suitcase was packed to the brim with the most wonderful tutus, shimmering fabrics, elegant heels, and a sprinkle of sparkle (because what’s a Parisian adventure without a little sparkle?).
The Charm of Paris – and My Tutu-tastic Exploration
The moment I stepped off the Eurostar and onto Parisian soil, I was absolutely smitten. That unmistakable aroma of freshly baked bread, the captivating chatter on the street, and those charming cobblestone streets – everything felt like a beautiful, intricate dance.
So, naturally, my first order of business was to find the most beautiful café in the area and indulge in a leisurely breakfast of fluffy pancakes, a cup of steaming, hot chocolate, and a croissant that practically melted in my mouth. Oh, Paris! You certainly know how to spoil me.
Feeling utterly pampered and rejuvenated, I embarked on a mini fashion expedition through the charming streets. Paris, oh Paris, you are just overflowing with the most divine boutiques! From classic Parisian designs to more avant-garde styles, there’s something to entice every eye, to spark joy in every heart. Of course, I found a little something special for myself. A stunning rose-gold scarf and a pink tutu with lace trim – I can't resist a good Parisian souvenir, can I?
As afternoon approached, the mood for exploration took hold. I have always found that some of the best discoveries in any city are made on foot. And so, my pink tutu and I ventured into the city. We explored quaint little bookstores, peered into fascinating galleries, and meandered through bustling markets, where the air buzzed with lively conversations and the smell of fresh cheeses and flowers.
But I must admit, there was something quite magical about discovering hidden corners and finding out the hidden gem cafés that Paris had to offer. My little notebook is already filled with a list of recommendations for next time! I am a big fan of "local tips," aren’t you? I find the hidden gems of the world through the local, not through TripAdvisor, if you know what I mean. It adds so much authenticity to your experiences and, for me, I prefer to let my exploration take me where it needs to take me – rather than following a pre-made schedule.
My Ballet Obsession
One of my goals in Paris this time was to explore the beautiful Palais Garnier – that stunning, magnificent building, home to the world famous Opéra de Paris. What a breathtaking architectural masterpiece!
As I walked through the opulent lobby, it felt like I’d been transported back in time, surrounded by magnificent chandeliers and graceful, ornate decorations. Just imagining the dazzling ballet performances taking place on the stage sent shivers down my spine! And who knows, maybe I’ll find myself twirling on that very stage one day, dancing with the Paris Opéra Ballet? (Wouldn't that be the dream, though?)
You all know how much I love a good ballet performance – that grace and elegance is truly breathtaking and so much a part of Paris, don’t you think? Even the way the Parisian women walk is a delicate, subtle dance, in a way!
The Eiffel Tower at Sunset – Magical Moments
As evening drew closer, it was time to enjoy a truly quintessential Parisian experience. Nothing less than the magical glow of the Eiffel Tower! I met a friend there, a fellow dance enthusiast who now lives in Paris, at the foot of this stunning tower, just as the sky began to paint itself with colours of pink and orange. I'd planned my outfit, choosing a beautiful pale pink silk dress that twirled just right. What can I say? Even when it’s not on stage, it is my default setting! And I’ll be honest, we twirled around under that enchanting evening sky like we were right on stage together.
Fashionistas Delight
One thing I’ve discovered is, no matter where I travel, Parisian women are always flawlessly dressed! They make classic Parisian style seem effortless! It makes my wardrobe seem just a bit less interesting. Don't get me wrong, I'm a self-proclaimed fashionista too, and Paris has made my heart swoon. So many incredible styles to admire – from sophisticated street style to chic cocktail looks!
The fashion here, it seems, just dances between chic, modern and whimsical! I just can't help but pick up new ideas for my ballet and theatre performances. Perhaps some inspiration for my costumes – and some new pieces for my ballet wear.
A Day of Beauty, Culture and Dance
All in all, Saturday was a perfect Parisian day filled with elegance, excitement, and oh, so much beauty. I truly think the world needs more tutus – and more trips to Paris, in fact. There are so many incredible corners to explore here, and I can’t wait to see what Monday has in store for me! If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know how much I love Paris! The combination of French style and all things ballet? It’s truly magical, don’t you think?
Be sure to check in again next Saturday, and until then, may your steps be light, and your days be filled with twirling.
