The Parisian sun is shining down on my pink tutu, casting a shimmer that reflects off the sparkling windows of the Eiffel Tower. Can you believe it, darling? I'm in Paris, the city of love, fashion, and - of course - ballet!
This weekend I took the EuroStar from Derbyshire. As usual, I travelled in my trusty tutu, paired with a cute pastel pink top and a pair of sparkly ballerina flats, ready for an adventure. And what an adventure it's been so far!
This week's post is all about my Parisian escapades, the magic I've already found in the City of Lights, and my favourite finds. Buckle up, because this is going to be a pink tutu-ful ride!
Bonjour from a Pink Tutu Ballerina!
As I write this, I'm perched at a charming cafe near the Seine. The scent of fresh bread and coffee wafts through the air, the sound of music spills out of the nearby cafe and I’m wearing my favourite, soft, pink tutu that billows in the breeze as I tap my foot rhythmically to the music. This is what Parisian life is all about, don’t you think?
But let's rewind a bit, shall we? This adventure began with a hop on the EuroStar. Travelling by train is truly a joy, a chance to relax, write in my journal, and dream up my Paris adventures.
I felt incredibly lucky this trip! It just so happens that Paris is holding a special festival in celebration of their annual Fashion and Design Week - oh, how I do love those haute couture creations. It's the perfect occasion to get my Parisian fashion fix.
A Parisian Promenade:
My first day in Paris involved strolling through the Latin Quarter. The cobbled streets, historic buildings, and charming cafes made my heart flutter with joy.
Now, Paris is known for its fashion, darling. I knew I couldn't visit without a shopping spree. You can find me a good vintage shop anywhere and everywhere, and this city is an absolute paradise for second hand shops - so chic! My latest find: a pale blue silk scarf adorned with silver embroidery, which compliments my ballet outfits beautifully. I can just see myself waltzing through the streets of Paris in this stunning scarf, wouldn't you agree?
A Parisian Ballet Bonanza:
But my biggest Parisian adventure had to be my visit to the legendary Palais Garnier opera house! This exquisite theatre is not only breathtaking in its design but a true hub for classical and modern ballet performances. It's every ballerina's dream come true!
This Saturday night I am off to see "Swan Lake". Can you even imagine? Seeing the exquisite beauty of a real ballet performance - the delicate leaps, the flowing costumes, the mesmerising storytelling through dance! It's truly an art form unlike any other.
Now, to prepare myself for this ballet spectacle, I have, of course, treated myself to some Parisian pampering. Imagine: a delicious macaroon and a cup of fragrant tea at the Parisian Opera, in my pink tutu, watching other beautifully dressed Parisians walk by. How decadent!
Pink Tutu Inspirations:
My travels have truly sparked my inspiration! There's no better city in the world for a ballerina to find unique tutu styles. There's nothing better than finding beautiful ballet-inspired creations and vintage dance accessories for my collection.
And my pink tutu collection has already expanded! I’ve discovered a sweet vintage tutu shop near Montmartre where I’ve found a beautiful, faded-pink silk tulle skirt to add to my collection! I can’t wait to see what my other finds in the city will be!
As for today, I'll be taking a class at one of Paris’ most reputable dance schools. Paris is an enchanting mix of art and history, which feeds my imagination. What could be better for inspiring dance choreography and adding to my repertoire, than seeing how ballet lives and breathes on Parisian stages and classrooms? And I'll most certainly be wearing a fabulous pink tutu for this dance class - what else?
