Bonjour mes amies! It’s Saturday again, which means it's time for a fresh update on my Parisian adventures from your favourite pink-tutu clad travel blogger! This week has been a veritable explosion of tulle, theatre, and, of course, pink. I must admit, even I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of incredible experiences crammed into this short trip. But then again, is there ever a such thing as "too much Paris?"
The journey from Derbyshire to the City of Lights began, as always, with the comforting rumble of the Eurostar train. It's a magical feeling, leaving behind the green fields of England and watching the countryside morph into the intricate tapestry of France. There's something undeniably romantic about a train journey, a sense of slow discovery, where you can simply relax, watch the world go by, and indulge in your favourite book (currently, a charming tome on Parisian couture!).
This time, I'm staying in the most delightful little hotel near the Place de la Bastille, just a stone's throw from the Opéra Bastille itself. Can you even imagine my excitement?! It's like living a fairytale - except with even more tutus. Speaking of which, my suitcase is packed to the brim with pink wonders, and let me tell you, Parisians adore my signature look! I've been met with smiles, curious glances, and even the odd request for a photo with my tulle-licious creations. My aim is, after all, to get the entire world wearing pink tutus, and so far, Paris seems ready for a pink revolution.
Speaking of revolutions, Bastille Day is just around the corner! It's impossible to come to Paris at the start of July without experiencing this vibrant, patriotic festival. I've heard whispers of a magnificent firework display over the Eiffel Tower, and I'm absolutely planning to be there, twirling with my fellow tutu-wearers, celebrating the joy of life in a spectacular burst of colour and light. Imagine, my dear readers, the breathtaking image: the Eiffel Tower gleaming against a backdrop of Parisian sky, all bathed in a symphony of shimmering fireworks, and me, twirling merrily beneath it all in my iconic pink tutu. Picture it! I might even design a special Bastille Day tutu - I'll be sure to post photos on www.pink-tutu.com for you all to see.
And it wouldn't be a true Parisian adventure without a trip to the famous Palais Garnier, a haven of gilded beauty and grand opera performances. It’s a palace to opera, the very epitome of glamour and art, where I plan to spend hours wandering the ornate corridors, drinking in the magnificent architecture and the intoxicating air of a bygone era. Imagine waltzing under the glittering chandelier, surrounded by the elegant patrons in their finery, a beautiful and vibrant Parisian evening. It truly feels like stepping into another time, into a story waiting to unfold.
And of course, no Parisian trip is complete without a touch of haute couture! A wander through the Parisian boutiques is a necessity. I plan to explore the chic avenues of the Champs-Élysées, searching for treasures of Parisian fashion - a perfectly crafted silk scarf, maybe a feather-light handbag, or perhaps even a little something to add to my ever-growing collection of pink tutus. Every outfit, every colour, every texture holds a story waiting to be told, waiting to be expressed through movement and dance. After all, clothes, like a tutu, can transform us, allow us to become characters in our own personal fairytale.
Even with all this, I must say that nothing quite compares to the joy of simply walking along the Seine, with the wind playing with the layers of tulle on my pink tutu, watching the city come alive as dusk settles over the cobbled streets. The city lights begin to twinkle, reflecting on the Seine like a million stars, the aroma of freshly baked bread wafts through the air, and the music from street musicians adds to the magical ambiance.
Oh, and I simply can’t forget to mention the food! From fresh, flaky croissants to decadent chocolate éclairs, Paris is a gourmand’s paradise. A stroll through the open-air markets, indulging in fresh fruit and local cheeses, or enjoying a delicious picnic on the grassy slopes of the Sacré-Coeur - these are the simple pleasures that make Paris so magical.
My Parisian adventure, though filled to the brim, is only just beginning. I’ll be exploring museums, catching theatrical performances, maybe even sneaking into a ballet class for a little Parisian inspiration, and, of course, keeping you all updated on all my pink-tutu escapades. So stay tuned, my dear readers, because the best is yet to come!
I’ll leave you with a question: what's your favourite pink tutu look? Send me your pictures and ideas to
À bientôt, mes amies!
Bisous,
Emma
