#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 1438: A Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights

Bonjour mes chéries! ?

It’s Saturday, the sun is shining (although it’s always sunny in my heart, even on a cloudy day!) and I’m sitting at my little cafe table, writing to you from the most romantic city in the world – Paris! ?

This week has been a whirlwind of twirls, trains and trés chic Parisian style, so grab your pink tutu, pour yourself a cup of something delicious, and settle in for another exciting adventure on Pink-Tutu.com!

I travelled down on the EuroStar – I love a good train journey, it’s the perfect chance to relax, lose myself in a book and let the countryside whizz past. Of course, I was wearing my new pink tulle skirt, a beautiful Parisian-inspired outfit with a touch of Derbyshire charm (my beret, of course!). ?

This trip to Paris was all about ballet – that intoxicating combination of grace and strength that I just can’t get enough of! I managed to catch an incredible performance of Giselle at the Opéra Garnier. Oh, my goodness, it was just magical! ? The dancers were ethereal, the costumes exquisite and the whole experience just swept me off my feet!

Tutus and Traditions:

Speaking of tutus, Paris is a city bursting with ballet history. I spent the afternoon wandering around the Opéra Garnier – it was like stepping back in time. Such grandeur, such opulent detail! I even managed to squeeze in a spot at a drop-in ballet class at the gorgeous École de Danse – I have to admit, the French ballerinas have an elegant style all their own, a perfect blend of discipline and effortless beauty. ?

Of course, no Parisian adventure would be complete without a trip to the Musée de la Mode et du Textile. ? Their exhibition on Les Ballets Russes had me utterly captivated! I spent ages sketching costume designs, admiring the iconic Diaghilev era fashions and taking inspiration for my next big pink tutu creation. ?

Chic Shopping and City Views:

Who doesn't love a Parisian shopping spree?! The city just brims with chic boutiques, each one holding a treasure trove of beautifully crafted clothing and accessories. I couldn't resist picking up a few key pieces for my wardrobe - a luxurious cashmere cardigan to layer over my favourite ballet outfits and a pair of stylish ballerina flats that can easily transition from studio to city streets. ✨

A quintessential Paris experience for me is taking a leisurely walk along the Seine, watching the sun set behind the Eiffel Tower. The romance, the history, the magic – Paris always knows how to capture the heart!

The Eiffel Tower Twirl:

This Saturday was all about the Eiffel Tower - Paris' most iconic landmark! It felt a bit like a fairytale! I danced my way across the Champ de Mars, the Tower glittering in the afternoon sun, and of course, I had to grab a photo in my pink tulle skirt, spinning a twirl with the Eiffel Tower as my backdrop. I think this photo is definitely worthy of a place on my wall back home! ?

Paris is truly a city that sparks the imagination, inspires creativity and leaves you with a newfound appreciation for life, and of course, a desire to spin your way through every Parisian cobbled street in your pinkest, most fabulous tutu! ✨

Coming Up Next:

I can’t wait to explore more of Paris this week! I have a ballet workshop scheduled with a legendary French ballerina, a tour of the historic Palais Garnier opera house, and even a ballet performance at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees on the agenda. Stay tuned next Saturday to hear all about my adventures on Pink-Tutu.com. ?

Au revoir for now,

Emma xx

P.S. Did I mention that today is the day they celebrate Bastille Day?! That makes this Parisian adventure all the more special. Remember, darling, everyone can twirl like a Parisian. Just take your inspiration from the Eiffel Tower, grab your favourite pink tutu and take the world by storm! ??✨
