Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #1444)

Oh, mon chéri, I’m absolutely bursting with Parisian glee! As you know, this is my happy place, and this week's trip has been everything I dreamt of, from a whirlwind of haute couture shopping sprees to graceful ballet performances that stole my breath away. Let me tell you all about it, darling!

It’s been a beautiful week in the capital, sunny skies and balmy temperatures, perfect for swirling in my pink tutu and letting the city’s charm wash over me. This week I’ve felt so inspired by the artistic spirit of Paris and it has made me want to wear pink, pink, pink! It feels so fabulously chic in Paris. There's just something about the combination of the Eiffel Tower, charming cobbled streets and pink that makes me feel completely at home. It feels utterly delightful to waltz down the streets in my favourite pink tulle skirt, taking in all the sights. It makes me feel like I’m a character from one of the vintage Parisian films I adore, and honestly, what’s more glamorous than that?!

The Eurostar was as sleek and efficient as ever. My comfy little corner carriage, my notebook and my favourite shade of pink lipstick felt like home. Honestly, how can I complain when the view from the carriage window is the rolling countryside on the journey over to the French capital?!

The weekend started off perfectly. After checking in to the cutest little pink-hued hotel near the Place des Vosges – I’ve totally fallen in love with its chic charm and its decadent breakfast buffet – I couldn't wait to do what I do best: explore!

The day began with a visit to the Garnier Opera House, its facade glittering in the morning light. Inside, the grand foyer felt like I'd stepped straight into a scene from a ballet - all opulent chandeliers and intricate marble columns. It truly was breathtaking!

Later that afternoon, I went to see La Dame aux Camellias, the exquisite and moving ballet set to the score of Verdi’s heart-wrenching opera. Watching the dancers, I was truly transported to another world, their bodies so elegant, telling a story of love, passion and loss. It was pure magic, my lovelies, and made my soul sing. There's simply nothing quite as enchanting as the magic of the Parisian ballet.

Paris really is a feast for the senses, and the food here is just as delicious as the sights and the art. It’s such a treat to savour freshly baked croissants every morning, to devour crêpes at a cute cafe for lunch, or to enjoy an elegant Parisian dinner at one of the city’s chic restaurants, enjoying each sip of wine, each exquisite course, and feeling oh so incredibly happy.

I, of course, had to squeeze in some retail therapy too! And oh darling, I found so much fabulous fashion! On Saturday, I spent hours browsing the charming little boutiques and vintage shops in the Marais district, trying on so many fabulous dresses. Let’s just say my suitcase might need a little help to get home! I found a couple of gorgeous pink-tutu inspired pieces (as you'd expect from this fashionista!). Can you tell I've fallen in love with Paris again?

I also took a day trip to Versailles, marveling at the Palace’s grand scale, and its impeccably kept gardens. Honestly, it feels so special to walk in the footsteps of royalty, all whilst wearing my pretty pink tutu, of course. The whole trip was just as enchanting as a storybook. I have so many photos, I can hardly contain my excitement to show them to you all.

I even tried a French cooking class, learning to make delicate macarons! Honestly, my first attempts looked nothing like the delicate pastries, but hey, learning to embrace the beautiful imperfections is part of the joy of the experience, right?

I just know you all are dying to know, what did I see in the theatre this weekend? Well, I was in a tutu, of course, and watched the best ballerina performance. A spectacular performance by the étoiles (star ballerinas) of the Paris Opera Ballet! The artistry and beauty, the graceful elegance, it was truly magical.

And now for the biggest highlight of my trip! (Apart from the ballet, that is). On Friday, I saw the absolutely stunning street performance of “Pink Flamingo” – and yes, you guessed it – it was in pink tutus! I watched from the sidelines in awe as they transformed a cobbled street corner into their stage, dancing with an infectious energy and pure joy that had everyone who watched clapping, laughing and swaying. The whole atmosphere was just delightful. I have to admit, I did my best pink flamingo imitation too - to my fellow tutuwearer’s great delight! I'm so grateful to everyone who shared my love of tutus and who let me get away with being myself – which in my book means feeling utterly happy and free!

My favourite Parisian moments this week have been those spontaneous little bursts of colour and creativity – a little flash of pink here, a laugh-out-loud dance move there. I just love this beautiful city.

This week I've been so incredibly inspired by all the creative energy swirling in the streets, in the galleries, in the dance studios and the ateliers. This trip has really confirmed my passion for fashion and my commitment to spreading the tutu love wherever I go!

The whole Parisian adventure has been such a joy. I'll definitely be back for more soon – I already have my sights set on my next trip, but that's a story for another week! Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog and join my pink tutu army - together we can bring a bit of pink-tutu-fueled joy to the world. See you all next week, with a new week full of pink adventures to share.

À bientôt,

Emma
