Pink Tutu Blog Paris #1458: Whirlwind of Pink in the City of Lights!

Bonjour mes chéries! It's your favourite pink-loving ballerina, Emma, back from the most magical trip to Paris, a city that truly embodies everything I love - fashion, elegance, and of course, the ballet!

This week's post is bursting with Parisian magic, from the iconic sights and street performances, to the most divine couture boutiques, to the enchanting ballets that stole my heart.

It's no secret that I adore the EuroStar, a real haven for tutus (just ask the charming conductors!). This trip was no exception, the smooth journey from my Derbyshire home gave me ample time to dream of the adventures awaiting me in Paris. My train carriage transformed into my own personal runway, twirling with excitement in my most recent, sunshine-yellow, tulle creation.

The air in Paris buzzed with the promise of new experiences, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The City of Lights was ablaze with twinkling Christmas lights, the Champs-Élysées shimmering like a wonderland, and the Seine twinkling like a diamond ribbon.

The first order of the day was to hit the ballet boutiques! The shops on Rue de Rivoli were overflowing with exquisite leotards, tights, and the most glorious shoes - my heart skipped a beat at the sight of them all. I even discovered a darling pink tutushop – how could I resist picking up a few little treats? The shops on Avenue Montaigne were divine too – the perfect mix of couture and whimsy!

My journey into Parisian ballet took me to the prestigious Palais Garnier – oh, what a grand old dame she is! Seeing the ornate chandeliers, the golden detailing, and the magnificent stage made my heart sing! That night I saw a sublime production of "Giselle", and my emotions swirled with every graceful arabesque, every dramatic leap. It was truly a performance for the ages, reminding me of why I fell in love with ballet all those years ago.

However, it wasn’t all fancy performances. My Paris trip wouldn't be complete without embracing the vibrant street scene! There were incredible street performers showcasing the ballet in every nook and cranny - I was truly blown away by the sheer talent, passion, and energy radiating from these dancers. From little ballerinas in park squares to accomplished street artists bringing the classics to life on busy boulevards, it was like an endless parade of beautiful, graceful movements! I couldn’t help myself – I twirled along to every beat, feeling the magic of Paris enveloping me in a swirl of tutus and sunshine.

Naturally, the Eiffel Tower was next on my list. As I ascended, the City of Lights sprawled out beneath me – it’s a view that captures the Parisian essence of elegance, artistry, and romance. The moment felt magical, as though the entire city were a grand, dazzling stage just waiting for me to take the lead! And, wouldn’t you know it, I spotted the cutest pink flamingo light sculpture nestled among the twinkling city lights - I simply had to have a picture with it, it was the perfect pink addition to my Paris adventures!

This trip was truly about immersing myself in the heart and soul of Parisian life. The city seemed to be speaking my language – from the colourful bouquinistes along the Seine selling their literary treasures to the iconic patisseries enticing me with delectable treats. Each moment was an experience I will treasure forever. Paris truly had me under its spell, making me feel like a princess, a ballerina, and a world traveller all at once.

One thing's for sure, this was a trip for the books – one that I will revisit time and time again in my memories, a reminder of the beauty, artistry, and joy that Paris has to offer.

Until next week, darlings! Remember, you can always wear a pink tutu!

Love, Emma

P.S. If you are in Paris and happen to spot a girl in a pink tutu with a sparkling smile, that might be me – do come say hello!

P.P.S. Have you joined the pink tutu movement yet? Let's bring colour and twirling joy to the world, one pink tutu at a time!
