Prague Dreams: Pink Tutu Adventures in the City of a Hundred Spires! (Post #1)

Hello darlings!

Emma here, and oh my, I am SO excited to be embarking on this brand new adventure. It’s Wednesday, and as always, I’m bringing you a brand new Pink Tutu blog, this time straight from the cobblestone streets of Prague!

That's right, my lovelies, this is a week-by-week chronicle of my European adventures – all funded by my performances as a professional ballerina. How utterly glamorous, wouldn’t you agree?

For this trip, I've swapped the stage for the tracks, choosing a rather splendid railway journey from Derbyshire to this beautiful city. Trains are truly the perfect mode of transport, don’t you think? Especially when you're in your most fabulous tutu (and trust me, my new lavender one is simply divine). Plus, they give you the best opportunity to spot some inspiring fashion inspiration! It’s truly astonishing the array of stylish individuals you meet on trains… from the chic Parisians, to the effortlessly stylish Romans, and the oh-so-sophisticated Brits! I swear, if I wasn’t busy twirling my tutu on the train journey, I would’ve had a fashion photoshoot!

As a ballet enthusiast, the romance of rail travel just fits the bill. You feel like you’re whisked away to a magical land… just like those wonderful ballets I perform in!

Prague! The Magic Begins…

So here I am in Prague, nestled amongst the magic of the ‘City of a Hundred Spires’. It truly is as stunning as it sounds. Just think - majestic buildings adorned with delicate gargoyles and the intricate spires piercing the sky. It’s all just too utterly wonderful! The atmosphere here is so vibrant… full of culture and beauty, and the charm is truly intoxicating! I haven’t even ventured out of my hotel yet, but it feels like I’m in a fairytale.

Speaking of my hotel, my lovelies… you will be pleased to know that I’ve been blessed with a gorgeous room fit for a ballerina. We’re talking floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the old town square. And what makes this view even better? The vibrant pink hues of the blooming cherry blossom trees gracing the square. Talk about picturesque!

The entire hotel oozes old-world charm…think intricate carvings, marble floors, and a rather majestic chandelier… oh my, the detail!

The thing about Prague is it’s just overflowing with hidden gems and unique places just waiting to be discovered… oh, and that, darling, is exactly what I intend to do. I’ve already pencilled in some must-dos…

Tutu-Worthy Must-Do’s:

  1. Old Town Square and Astronomical Clock: Of course, I must explore the iconic Old Town Square! It’s famous for the captivating Astronomical Clock with its moving figures, and it's an absolute must-see. This is sure to be the ultimate place for a pink tutu picture. You’re going to be SO envious, my lovelies, as I already have a photo shoot planned for sunset, so prepare to be swooned. I just can’t imagine a prettier setting for my tutu to take centre stage!

  2. Prague Castle: No trip to Prague is complete without a visit to the iconic Prague Castle. It’s been the seat of power since the 9th century. Can you imagine, that's so many centuries of history! I cannot wait to get lost in the royal corridors of this historical gem! Just picture me twirling around in my tutu, with all those spires behind me! I’ll have to keep you updated on Instagram… you’ll be the first to see!

  3. Dancing House: Prague is known for its traditional architecture…but you know me, my lovelies, I also love modern architecture, too! So of course, a trip to the ‘Dancing House’ is a must. Imagine a pair of dancers… oh, how glamorous, this building reminds me of a waltz, gracefully swerving amongst the traditional buildings!

  4. Petřín Hill:
Ah, my darlings… I am beyond excited to take a cable car to the top of Petřín Hill. Can you imagine the views from there?! I’m envisioning taking the cutest little pony cart up, followed by a long, glamorous stroll back down. The best part? Petřín boasts a whimsical tower that's actually a mini-version of the Eiffel Tower. So cute! Just like my little tutu-filled wardrobe!

  5. National Theatre: It’s simply unacceptable to come to Prague and not witness the ballet! This beautiful Art Nouveau masterpiece boasts the incredible National Theatre, where I will be catching a performance of ‘Swan Lake.’ You all know I love a swan ballet… (And, let’s be honest, swan costumes give off major tutus vibes.)

The Beauty of Fashion & History:

Of course, I’m keeping my eyes peeled for the finest tutus in Prague, both old and new. Prague’s vibrant fashion scene just cries out for a Pink Tutu touch!

And of course, this city, rich with history, also boasts a captivating story in dance! I can't wait to dig into the fascinating history of ballet here… from its beginnings at the court to the establishment of world-class ballet companies. What an opportunity to soak up those tutus of old!

*So, my darlings, join me every Wednesday for another week of pink tutu adventures in this captivating city. Let's dive into the vibrant world of fashion, history, and the beautiful artistry of ballet in Prague! *

Until next time, keep those tutus twirling!

Love, Emma x
