Prague Post No. 10: Whirlwind Wednesday in the City of a Hundred Spires! 🩰💖🇨🇿

Hello darlings, and welcome back to Pink Tutu Prague! It’s Wednesday, which means another post from your favourite pink-loving, tutu-touting travel blogger! This week, we’re back in the enchanting city of Prague, which feels like a fairytale come to life. It’s simply brimming with charm!

The past week has been a whirlwind of waltzing, wonder, and well, whirling (a ballerina’s life, you know!), and I’ve just got to share the adventures I've been having with you lovelies.

First things first, remember that amazing show I was telling you about last week, the Ballet at the Estates Theatre? Well, that happened. Let me tell you, I felt like a proper princess stepping into that historical gem! I had the most delightful seat in the royal balcony – talk about a ballerinas's dream come true!

I chose the perfect dress for the occasion – a vintage black lace number with a little sparkle that danced perfectly in the gaslight chandeliers. Of course, a tulle skirt in the softest pink imaginable was de rigueur – I like to keep the colour pink in focus wherever I go!

The production, “Swan Lake”, was absolutely magical. The dancing, the costumes, the set, everything was utterly captivating! It made my heart sing! It just proves you can never go wrong with a good ballet, especially in such a stunningly atmospheric setting.

But you know what else makes my heart skip a beat? Shopping, darling! And Prague hasn’t disappointed in the fashion stakes, I can tell you. I found some real treasures in a quaint vintage boutique tucked away on the cobbled streets of the Old Town. I found this divine, little, vintage lace bolero, in – you guessed it – pink, to go with a new tulle skirt for my dancing at the ballet classes.

I can't even tell you how exciting it is to find new treasures. That's the best part about travel. You just never know what incredible things you'll discover! And who knows, maybe someday one of my Pink Tutu looks will grace the catwalk in Prague! Now that would be a dream!

But hold onto your tutus, lovelies, because I'm not just all about the pretty dresses and ballets, oh no! I also dabbled in some serious cultural immersion.

Yesterday, I spent the morning exploring the Prague Castle complex. Did you know that it's the largest ancient castle in the world?! Imagine that! The grounds are vast and beautiful, and there's so much to see!

We walked the labyrinthine alleyways, past hidden courtyards, and over ancient bridges. Every corner revealed a new surprise! I could feel history seeping out of the walls! And the views were truly breathtaking, over the city of Prague, with the spires of the churches glittering in the sunshine – perfectly magical.

Of course, I wore a pink tutu to complete my exploration! You're probably thinking, "Emma, you're always in a tutu!" And you’d be right, darlings, it just feels right and besides, why not? Everyone in the castle looked so thrilled to see me in my tutu and all the children loved it too, I was like a whirling fairy!

Prague has also surprised me with the amazing number of horses and carriages you can find! They even offer horse drawn carriages to go sightseeing. Imagine going on a carriage ride through Prague! Just gorgeous, don’t you think?

After all the historical exploring, I took myself to the most delightful café with a terrace overlooking the Vltava river. I sat sipping iced tea and reading a book, feeling the sunshine warm my skin and taking in the magical views – pure bliss.

As the afternoon unfolded, I joined a delightful little group for ballet class on the picturesque Letna Meadows. Prague’s such a vibrant place, filled with life and colour and, most importantly, love! The other girls at the ballet class loved the tutus I had brought with me – they all agreed I was leading a pink tutu fashion revolution, but don’t tell them I’m not trying. We’ll all be wearing pink tutus soon I hope.

As evening settled, the sky painted the horizon in shades of apricot and lavender – beautiful. Prague, just like a tutu, really comes alive at twilight!

So what does tomorrow hold? More ballet, obviously, more explorations, more gorgeous food, more breathtaking views, more laughs, and perhaps, just perhaps, a few more pink tutus, shall we?

Until next week, darlings. Keep twirling, and never be afraid to shine!

Your friend in Pink,

Emma xoxo

P.S. Did you know that ballet’s not always about fancy shoes and elegant dresses, though! It was originally known as Ballarin. Can you imagine? In the 1500s and 1600s, ballet was performed on court dances by aristocrats in extravagant costumes – and lots of lace. Pretty cool huh?!
