Prague Diaries: Tutu Tales and Trams! (Post #22)

Wednesday, 27th September, 1995

Hello, my darling dears! It's your favourite pink-tutu-clad travel enthusiast, Emma, back from a whirlwind week in Prague! It feels like just yesterday I was hopping on a train from Derbyshire, my trusty pink duffel bag bouncing alongside me. Now, I'm writing this from a charming little cafe with the most beautiful floral decor, the scent of fresh coffee and pastries wafting through the air – such a perfect backdrop for my Prague adventure recap.

Prague: A Fairy Tale of Turrets and Twirling

This city, my dears, is an absolute dream! The cobbled streets are paved with fairytale charm. Golden-spired churches reach for the sky, and the Vltava river, reflecting the pastel hues of the houses, feels like a ribbon wound through a dream. I've been spending my days getting utterly lost in the medieval architecture, popping into shops with the most fabulous, vintage treasures (imagine, darling, a hand-painted porcelain ballerina music box – my heart almost skipped a beat!), and of course, savouring the local delicacies (the pastries, oh my!).

A Symphony of Pink and Poise: My Prague Ballet Experience

The main reason I came to Prague, aside from its irresistible charm, was for the PinkTutuPrague Ballet performance on the 27th. My dears, I've seen my fair share of ballets, from London to Paris to even a tiny village theatre in Derbyshire, but nothing compares to the grace and grandeur of this performance.

The venue, a majestic opera house, had a beautiful blend of vintage glamour and modern sophistication. As I floated in, a murmur of applause met my pink tutu (naturally, I chose the one with the most delicate lacework – a tribute to Prague's ornate architecture, don't you think?) and I settled in for a performance that left me speechless.

The dancers, absolutely divine, moved with such fluidity and precision that it was like watching a living, breathing masterpiece. Each pirouette, each leap, each graceful arabesque felt like a brushstroke on the canvas of the evening.

The music was an emotional roller coaster, from sweeping, soaring melodies that carried you up with the ballerinas' leaps, to tender, heart-tugging themes that had me clutching my beaded handbag (and maybe shedding a tear or two - who am I kidding, I sobbed!).

And then, the finale, with its grand display of swirling dancers and cascading rose petals… Oh, darling, it was breathtaking! I haven't been so utterly mesmerized by a performance in years!

From The Stage to the Streets: Ballet Everywhere

Speaking of ballet, darling, it’s amazing how much ballet seems to seep into every corner of life here in Prague!

Walking across Charles Bridge, the golden statues along the edges felt like sculpted ballerinas frozen in time, with their flowing robes and delicate postures. Even the charming couples waltzing in the park reminded me of classical ballets – it was all a very romantic ballet experience, darling!

My Prague Essentials: Ballet and Beyond

You know how I am about my wardrobe, and Prague has been a veritable wonderland of beautiful clothes and accessories. You've simply got to come here! Imagine, darling, exquisite hand-painted silk scarves, stunning antique jewellery, and the most charming, hand-stitched shoes – all vying for a place in my wardrobe. I found a beautiful, blush-pink satin ballet shoe with crystal embellishments – absolutely perfect for a graceful stroll across the city.

Riding with Flair: Tram Travel with Tutu

I've even been venturing into Prague’s beautiful public transport – the trams! Such a delight! A gentle sway and the rhythmic click-clacking of wheels make for the most wonderful journey – especially if you're dressed to the nines. I even got some charming older ladies to let me wear their lovely shawl while I was out. It gave my ensemble such a wonderfully romantic bohemian vibe. They all chuckled, saying something about a 'pretty princess' in English and waved goodbye with such affection!

And so, my dears, my Prague adventure continues! Next week, I'm venturing out into the countryside for a horseback riding tour – all in the name of finding a new, whimsical way to travel with a tutu! Keep an eye out for my next post, and remember, darling, never be afraid to twirl your way into new adventures!

Until next Wednesday, remember to embrace the world with a sprinkle of pink and a twirl of grace. Stay fabulous, darling!

**Love,

Emma xx**
