Prague in Pink, Post No. 24: A Ballerina's Dream Come True

Darling readers,

It’s Wednesday, so you know what that means: it’s time for another delightful update from your favourite pink tutu-wearing travel blogger, yours truly, Emma! This week, I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement as I share all the captivating details of my trip to Prague. This enchanting city, a real-life fairytale with cobbled streets and fairytale castles, has completely stolen my heart. And yes, you guessed it – my pink tutu is, of course, front and centre in this dazzling adventure.

As you know, my love affair with travel is as deeply ingrained as my passion for ballet. And this journey to Prague started with a wonderful train ride, winding its way through rolling hills and charming countryside – pure bliss! I was captivated by the beautiful scenery, taking it all in with my usual flair for the dramatic, naturally. What’s a train journey without a dash of dramatic flair? I’m just glad I didn't trip on my perfectly-coordinated, rose-tinted heels – a fashion faux pas I simply can't afford.

Arriving in Prague, the first thing that struck me was the beautiful architecture, it’s so whimsical! All those colourful buildings, cobblestone streets and the awe-inspiring Prague Castle… oh, I felt like I had stepped straight out of a storybook! It’s almost as if a fairytale architect sprinkled magic dust over the whole city.

The atmosphere is just electric, so alive, with street musicians filling the air with lively tunes and friendly faces smiling warmly. This city feels positively buoyant with happiness. Even the pigeons seem to be in a good mood! I think my pink tutu has a bit of a calming influence on people. It’s amazing what a dash of pink can do for the soul!

Speaking of soul-calming, you know I couldn't have missed the opportunity to visit the majestic Prague National Theatre. It's a glorious structure, bathed in soft pink lights in the evening. It was so romantic, even the cobblestones seemed to be twirling under the streetlamps. My imagination immediately transported me back to the days of opulent ballets, the glittering costumes, the enchanting melodies... I was swept away by the magic of it all.

And oh my dear readers, there was even a ballet show on! You know me, I can't resist a performance, so naturally, I took the opportunity to dress in my most magnificent pink tutu (naturally it's a classic with a bit of bohemian flair!) and indulge in a delightful evening of artistic elegance. The ballerinas, with their ethereal movements, captured my soul – it was like watching a fairytale unfold right before my eyes!

There was a touch of Prague's unique charm throughout the ballet, the costumes were exquisite, and the storyline – well, it was the kind that lingers in your dreams! But honestly, I don't think I'll ever forget those graceful ballerinas gliding across the stage. Their costumes – oh darling, just exquisite! And the music, I tell you, it moved me like no other.

Speaking of the theatre, I had the opportunity to see another production which left me spellbound! “The Marriage of Figaro” opera. The entire night felt like a theatrical wonderland. It's simply magical when passion meets talent on that stage. I truly believe that passion can inspire great art, and it was breathtaking to see so many dedicated artists bringing such vibrant energy to every scene!

But darling, let’s not forget my obsession: tutu history! As you know, this has been my lifelong passion, and Prague has provided a rich landscape to explore the intricate world of tutu evolution. In one of the museums, I stumbled upon an exhibition dedicated to the development of the tutu! It was absolutely fascinating to see the transformations from the first humble dance skirts to the grand, flamboyant creations that graced the stages of the late 1800s. And it just goes to show how even something as seemingly simple as a tutu can be imbued with so much history and creative ingenuity. It just goes to show, darling, there's more to a tutu than meets the eye!

In between my artistic adventures, I have, of course, been exploring Prague's bustling city life! There's always so much to see and discover! There’s a charming little cafe I've fallen in love with. It’s in a charming alley, almost hidden by beautiful bougainvillaea flowers, where I indulged in the most delicious cake - an incredibly delicate vanilla cake layered with whipped cream. Perfect, wouldn't you say? I savored every morsel while taking in the charming scene, a true bohemian experience!

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without a spot of shopping, darling! I simply couldn’t resist exploring the boutique shops along the charming narrow lanes and uncovering hidden gems in vintage boutiques. There's such a distinct style in Prague – it's sophisticated yet playful.

But my dearest readers, there's another reason for my utter adoration of Prague: their love for the humble pink tutu! You would not believe the amount of beautiful vintage shops with shelves packed full of the most delightful, whimsical, tutus, a colour-lovers dream! You can even find them at the antique shops, and let me tell you, they are absolute works of art.

And it's not just the boutiques that celebrate this fabulous garment. Everywhere I look in Prague, it’s like someone took a giant paintbrush dipped in bubblegum pink and sprinkled a delightful, light touch of glamour onto every corner. The people are so open, so embracing, they just make you feel comfortable in your own skin! And they absolutely adore pink. Even the streetlights seem to shimmer in shades of pink. I can see myself living here, and spreading the message of pink joy for the rest of my days.

It seems Prague and I are kindred spirits - embracing creativity and style! The vibrant city's personality perfectly mirrors my own: joyous, bubbly, and a touch whimsical. We share a love for everything enchanting, captivating, and yes, even pink. So dear readers, do follow me on my upcoming journey to a town where pink tutus dance in the streets! I promise you, it's an absolute dream come true. Until next week, my darlings!

XOXO, Emma
