Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Culture & Colour - Post #37

Hello my darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad, ballet-obsessed blogger, back from the most magical trip to Prague. I just had to share every last detail, from the charming cobbled streets to the divine tutus I unearthed at the city's fabulous vintage boutiques.

It's Wednesday, so you know what that means, my lovelies – it's Prague blog day! You'll find my little corner of the web at www.pink-tutu.com, every Wednesday at this very time. If you've not already signed up, what are you waiting for?! It's the best place to be for pink tutu adventures, ballet bliss and all things girly!

But before I divulge my secrets, let me take you back to my whirlwind trip to Prague.

A Journey by Rail

Oh, the thrill of the train! The romance, the scenery whizzing by, the comfy carriage – it all fuels the soul. And of course, my pink-hued cashmere scarf was a perfect match for the vibrant landscape that flashed past my window as the train rumbled towards the Czech capital.

I travelled with my trusty companion – a beautiful leather trunk adorned with a pink ribbon, holding all my tutus (a good selection, I must say, with some spectacular vintage pieces, including a pale-pink tulle beauty I picked up in Vienna last month!), and a collection of ballerina-themed travel essentials. I always pack a few books too - ballet biographies, tutu history (I'm a bit of a historian!), and of course, my favourite "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland." I mean, how could I possibly leave home without the tale of the mad hatter and the very first tea party in literary history! It's simply a MUST for any travelling ballerina, and the inspiration for countless tutus over the years!

My Favourite City

I arrived in Prague just in time for a very special ballet performance at the National Theatre on January 10th - can you believe it?! A gorgeous rendition of “The Nutcracker” – the perfect start to my Prague adventure.

From the moment I stepped out of the train station and saw the majestic Charles Bridge, I was utterly smitten. It's just as magical as it sounds! I strolled along the cobblestones, mesmerized by the breathtaking architecture and the stories whispering in the air. The very air feels different in Prague – it's infused with history and beauty!

Pink Tutu Dreams

This city was made for shopping, and shopping for tutus is one of my favourite hobbies (a closely guarded secret). Prague's vintage shops were overflowing with tutus just begging for a second act! I snagged some absolute gems – one especially stunning one was a classic pink tulle masterpiece, embroidered with a whimsical ballerina motif. I can't wait to wear it for a performance at the Derbyshire ballet school - they just adore a splash of pink, especially if it's accompanied by sparkly tulle and lots of swirling and leaping!

The Importance of Comfort

Shopping for pink tutus can be tiresome, even for a ballet aficionado! So naturally, I had to make time for some pampering. One of the highlights was an afternoon at a lovely little tea room tucked away in the Old Town. You have to see it - all beautiful vintage furniture, a sweet floral scent in the air, and a huge assortment of pastries and teas - perfect fuel for my creative pursuits!

More Than Just a Dance

One of the best things about ballet is how it ties us to history. The graceful elegance of the dancers, the intricate costumes, the emotional story they tell - it all transcends time. So I couldn’t resist exploring the captivating world of ballet in Prague!

The National Theatre’s stage was a dream! So beautiful. Every element – the backdrop, the lighting, the orchestra - it was just pure magic. And the dancers, my dear readers, simply breathtaking. Their grace and artistry transported me to another realm, where imagination danced with the elegance of ballet.

Sharing My Passion

You're probably wondering about my pink tutu debut in Prague, right? You see, it was not meant to be. A little bird (okay, my mother) told me there’s a new fashion craze here: the ‘Prague Tartan.’ Imagine a beautiful pattern of turquoise and amber, oh-so-charming for that retro look – but not my personal cup of tea. I can see myself in a vibrant pink dress with my favourite pale-pink tutu for a special evening event, however, I didn't manage to find the perfect shade of pink to bring out the vibrancy of Prague's history, and after that, there was just no time! It was a busy few days! I can tell you this much, I didn't bring just one pink tutu... and every tutu needs an audience.

Speaking of which, I met the most amazing group of dancers - young, vibrant and bursting with creativity. It’s truly inspiring seeing their passion for ballet. I love sharing my knowledge, tips, and tricks (mainly involving pink tutus!), and I simply cannot wait to inspire them to dance in all their pink-tutu glory!

The Final Act

Prague stole my heart. It’s filled with fairytale charm, romantic history, and enough fashion inspiration to fill a thousand tutus. I already dream of returning to explore its many hidden gems and discover new, exciting corners for pink-tutu fashion.

But for now, I'm off to my ballet studio in Derbyshire. I’m busy preparing for my next performance, where you know I'll be showing off my tutu treasures – the vintage ones, the hand-crafted ones, and a whole host of other pink tutu delights. I promise, you’re in for a show!

So until next Wednesday, darling!

*Stay tuned for more adventures and, of course, pink tutu goodness. *

Love,

Emma

P.S My biggest inspiration is to make every single one of you dance! Don't be afraid to wear pink, my darlings. It’s a colour that’s powerful, bold, and totally delightful. I love all you lovely ladies, so stay stylish and embrace your inner ballerina! 💖💖💖
