Prague's Enchanting En Pointe: Pink Tutu's Prague Diaries, Post 39! šŸ©°šŸ’–

Bonjour, mes amis! It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another adventure from your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller!

This week, I'm absolutely thrilled to be bringing you the first in a series of posts dedicated to the absolutely magical city of Prague. I'm calling it "Pink Tutu's Prague Diaries", because I know you lovely lot are just dying for a glimpse of my pink tutu escapades in this magnificent European jewel!

But before we dive into the swirling tutu delights, let me tell you a bit about how I got here! My darling, devoted audience, you know I fund my travel adventures by doing what I love most: performing! šŸ©°šŸŒŸ Last week I had a string of shows with a lovely theatre troupe in lovely old Dresden. Now, Dresden was an enchanting town. Charming cafes with gingerbread hearts on the coffee, cobbled streets, and quaint little stores. Honestly, Dresden has the best coffee shop I've ever been to ā€“ it was a hidden gem, called ā€œSĆ¼ĆŸe Schleifeā€. The staff all had those delicate little frills and ruffles that the German people know so well! You can't have a little slice of SchwarzwƤlder Kirschtorte (Black Forest gateau) without a delightful flourish, can you? It truly felt like the set of one of my favourite ballets. But I digress, back to Pragueā€¦

Well, my travels this week involve a bit of a change of pace. You know how much I love to travel by train. But Prague has stolen my heart. Let's just say the "Pink Tutu" blog is a little bit lighter than usual because I went absolutely crazy for pony riding in Prague! Yes, ponies. In the Czech Republic, it's a big thing ā€“ especially with a beautiful dress and a perfectly paired pink tutu. They had the sweetest little ponies with ribbons and even flower headbands - how perfectly cute! And there was a special "pink tutu ride", it's basically just pony riding around in your cutest pink tutu. šŸŽ šŸ’– Naturally, it was my mission to be the prettiest on the cobbled streets of Pragueā€¦ but what did I do? I bought every pony-related piece of clothing you could possibly imagine! Not just me ā€“ everyone does it, you see, a tiny little hat for yourself to match your tutu, and even the pony was decked out! Don't even get me started on the pink feather boa. Thatā€™s what they like about "Pink Tutuā€ ā€“ a bit of outlandish fashion in a pink, fairytale sort of way!

Ballet, a feast for the sensesā€¦ and tutus!

Now, letā€™s get back to Prague! The main event ā€“ the ballet, and the tutu-themed treats I've been dying to share! It's Friday evening. The city of Prague is dazzling; I can see it perfectly from my balcony window in the historic MalĆ” Strana.

Pragueā€™s Old Town is a true visual treat, and the lights glinting on the Vltava river, that was quite somethingā€¦ and a rather breathtaking welcome. I just had to slip on my pinkest tulle creation and capture the view! There are some truly impressive things to be seen! The Charles Bridge is truly romantic ā€“ full of artists and street performers.

After a wander through the charming streets, I found myself outside Prague's most majestic landmark. I knew Iā€™d heard of this place. The stunning architecture of the Prague Castle. Talk about romantic. I've spent the last day exploring. The architecture, itā€™s breathtaking. And this place had such interesting history. My first port of call, was, of course, a shopping expedition! I have to confess I completely lost myself in the amazing vintage clothing stores ā€“ you should have seen my haul, the beautiful dresses! One of them even has pink detailing. I bought enough outfits to put an outfit in a museum of ballet. And when you have so many pink outfits itā€™s like you are always in characterā€¦

A tutu's tale: Prague's magical ballet show

And what is the true highlight of Prague, darling? Well, what could it be but an absolutely divine evening at the NĆ”rodnĆ Divadlo, Prague's world-famous National Theatre. I am beyond excited, because itā€™s time for the show: Swan Lake! Of course! But hold onto your tutus, my dear blog-friends! You are about to witness a ballet performance like you've never seen before.

Firstly, the building itself, is a sight to behold! Grand, imposing, it literally takes your breath away. My heart fluttered as I watched the crowd slowly file into the opulent grand hall, each person taking in the sheer scale and history of it all.

Once inside, you find yourself in this beautiful grand hall that feels just like a beautiful, graceful ballet. And they serve refreshments. A large platter full of delicate sandwiches with cream cheese and fresh dillā€¦ It was delicious! It really added to the luxurious, elegant atmosphere. And of course, I chose my favourite pink bubbly. Donā€™t forget I am the ā€œPink Tutuā€ girl!

After an evening spent lost in the enchanting world of "Swan Lake," it was with a heart full of graceful, elegant dreams that I made my way homeā€¦ on my perfectly-paired pink bicycle! There were, quite honestly, too many highlights for me to mention! Every element was just right! The graceful movements of the ballerinas, the beautifully detailed costumes... the stage lighting! Even the stagehands, everyone was a picture of elegant beauty!

However, I'll tell you about this special show ā€“ because thatā€™s what the "Pink Tutu" blog is for! There were a few twists on the ā€œSwan Lakeā€ story! Instead of swansā€¦ the story is actually told using ballerinas dressed as mice! What a treat for a fashion lover like me! My favourite part is the dramatic finale. You have the classic ā€˜tutu twistā€™, and they do this impressive grand pirouette and then the entire stage is flooded with a sparkling white dust that comes tumbling downā€¦ to the audienceā€™s delight, of course! Magical.

There is so much about Prague that you could simply spend days looking at! Thereā€™s the magnificent gothic architecture in Pragueā€™s Old Town Square and so many amazing restaurants serving Czech food! The Old Town Hallā€¦ you just canā€™t miss the stunning Prague astronomical clock ā€“ and make sure to see it go off on the hour.

For now, darling, itā€™s time to wrap this week up. This is only the first week of the Pink Tutu Prague Diaries! You canā€™t have Prague in one sitting! And don't worry, you'll be treated to lots more pink tutu fashion! Youā€™ll see what it means to be pink and have an authentic Bohemian adventure!

As ever, my loves, donā€™t forget to follow me on Instagram @pinktutuofficial!

Until next week, happy twirling, darlings! šŸ’–
