Pink Tutu Prague: A Whirlwind of Ballet, Shopping and (Of Course) Pink! (Post #53)

Bonjour mes amies! It’s Emma, your friendly neighbourhood pink tutu enthusiast, here with a most exciting update from Prague. As you know, a love for ballet, an obsession with the colour pink, and an unabashedly girly disposition drive my life and, well, this here blog! So when I heard of the opportunity to experience a city overflowing with culture and history, and indulge my love for the graceful art of dance, I had to be here!

Prague is magical, like stepping into a fairy tale, complete with cobblestone streets, whimsical architecture and… you guessed it… more pink than I can possibly handle! I'm not sure whether I'm in a dreamscape or the most wonderful pink-themed museum ever! This city is simply brimming with colour, and of course, pink is at the forefront. My fellow tutus-wearing adventurers will love it here!

Travel in Style: Riding into the Pink Fairyland

I opted for a good old-fashioned train ride from Derbyshire. There’s nothing quite like the romance of gliding through the countryside on a plush red velvet seat, a steaming cup of Earl Grey in hand. But this journey wasn't just about travel – it was about a look.

To really kick things off with a bang, I made sure my travel ensemble included the most delightfully whimsical, pink-and-white patterned travel dress, complete with frills and ruffles (I love the juxtaposition of a bit of ruffles on an old fashioned train ride!), topped with a chic pink fedora, and naturally, my go-to, perfectly pink ballet pumps! It was quite the statement!

Now, the fun didn't stop with the journey. The train station was a marvel in itself! This stunningly preserved neo-renaissance structure oozes history, which naturally begs for a ballerina-worthy photo shoot – you can just picture me twirling amongst the ornate archways! The train journey itself was breathtaking; rolling hills, picturesque countryside villages – even the fellow travellers were enamoured! One little girl even called out, "Pink Tutu!" - the most lovely compliment ever.

The Prague Ballet - A Masterclass in Elegance

Let’s talk about the true purpose of my trip – a dazzling ballet performance! As soon as I landed, my itinerary revolved around seeing a show at the National Theatre. Now, I'm not one to miss out on a good dose of ballet history! The National Theatre itself has such a fascinating story: it started as a project driven by passionate Czechs determined to have a space for Czech art and culture, built from public donations.

As I walked inside, my heart swelled with anticipation, and when the performance of The Sleeping Beauty began, I was entranced! It was an unforgettable evening of grace, beauty, and artistry, a feast for the eyes and soul! Every pirouette, every jeté, every grand finale… all left me mesmerised. The elegance and talent of the dancers was unparalleled, and even the costumes! Breathtaking! Such exquisite detail – lace, velvet, satin… with a generous dose of pink, of course. I even caught the eye of one of the dancers, very flattering for someone wearing their very own pink tutu! It was a fantastic performance and one that is sure to stay with me for a long time.

Beyond the Stage: Pink Perfection in Prague

My journey through Prague has been an explosion of sights and experiences. Of course, no trip is complete without exploring the city's charms, and I can confidently say, it does not disappoint! This city oozes a kind of fairytale magic, and the charming squares and alleyways only add to the wonder.

After my whirlwind ballet evening, I had to go on a grand adventure, so I opted for a journey aboard a horse-drawn carriage! A pink tutu always adds a little glamour, even amidst cobbled streets and Baroque architecture. And of course, it wouldn't be a trip without some truly stunning shops. Imagine my joy when I stumbled upon a vintage clothing store, overflowing with gowns, gloves, and hats that wouldn't look out of place at the ballet! Naturally, a gorgeous vintage pink scarf had to find its way into my bag, because the look must always be complete!

But the highlight was undeniably the Charles Bridge! A masterpiece of architectural design and one of the most iconic bridges in Europe. As I crossed, feeling the gentle breeze on my face and gazing at the picturesque vistas of Prague, the feeling was akin to dancing under the moonlight – just lovely!

And of course, my ballet explorations weren't just about watching others. It's all about learning and growing! Luckily, the city offers a wide variety of ballet classes, which I have embraced with enormous gusto! It’s just like back home at Derbyshire Dance Academy but with a new twist! From classical ballet to contemporary dance, the instructors are all incredibly passionate, and their passion has truly rubbed off on me. Each class felt like stepping into a world of beauty and grace, leaving me with a feeling of accomplishment and joy. Now, what would a tutu aficionado like myself be without her own personal supply? Prague's tutu scene is truly remarkable! My quest for the perfect pink tutu for my Prague journey led me to the cutest little shop, hidden away in a cobblestoned alleyway. It was brimming with the most exquisite tutus, and the colours were incredible - naturally pink was top of the list! A bit of sparkle for my performance in Prague.

Pink Tutu: Taking Prague By Storm

My time in Prague has been an absolute dream, a pink-hued ballet fairytale come to life! This city is a feast for the eyes and a haven for pink tutu lovers like myself. As my trip comes to a close, I leave with a renewed appreciation for this vibrant, charming city. I truly believe there is a special pink tutu for every woman out there, a magical moment for every ballerina, and a dream awaiting realisation in every corner of the world. So keep dancing, keep dreaming, and remember, pink is the most important colour!
