#PinkTutuPrague Ballet in Prague 1996-05-22

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another instalment of my Pink Tutu Prague adventures! This week, my suitcase is bursting with tulle, my head is filled with dreams of pirouettes, and my heart is beating in time with the waltz.

Oh, Prague, you're simply divine! This enchanting city has captivated my heart with its cobblestone streets, ornate architecture, and of course, its thriving ballet scene! I'm so thrilled to share my latest experiences with you all, so let's grab a cuppa and dive right in!

My journey to Prague began with a quintessential train trip from the quaint Derbyshire countryside. Picture me, a vision in pink, of course, settling into a plush, first-class compartment, a fluffy pink shawl draped across my knees and a book of ballet history tucked into my handbag. It's no secret that train journeys inspire a certain kind of calm and creativity. My fellow travellers were a delightful bunch, charmed by my twirling in the aisles (well, perhaps a little twirl is all it took). It's a delightful fact, that tutus can break down barriers. They open hearts, and for me, it is an honour to bring a touch of magic into every journey!

Upon arriving in Prague, I was swept off my feet by its charm. A fairytale come to life, this city feels straight out of a storybook! The iconic Charles Bridge, with its magnificent statues, was truly awe-inspiring. And as I walked down the narrow, winding streets, every corner revealed another beautiful building. Prague’s beauty is breathtaking!

The city's charm extends far beyond its architectural splendours! Its vibrant cultural scene is equally captivating! The Prague National Theatre is simply a must-visit for any ballet aficionado! The grand architecture, plush velvet seats, and the palpable energy that buzzes through the building were magical.

Now, let’s get to the ballet! The 22nd of May was a night to remember. I donned a particularly fabulous pink tutu, its layers flowing around me like a dream, and embarked on a magical journey to the theatre. The show that evening was a mesmerizing mix of classical ballet, modern interpretations, and captivating performances! I was spellbound. It felt like a beautiful dance through time!

The highlight of the evening, of course, was the Tchaikovsky masterpiece: Swan Lake. It was pure enchantment, the poignant choreography, the powerful music, and the elegant dance that left me breathless! The ballerina portraying Odette, with her ethereal grace, seemed to float across the stage, a vision of grace and elegance. The music, the movements, the colours! All seamlessly woven together into a breathtaking tapestry of storytelling and art!

Of course, no visit to Prague is complete without a shopping spree. As much as I love ballet, shopping is truly my Achilles Heel! My suitcase is currently crammed full of luxurious silk scarves, delicate pearl jewellery, and – of course - more tutus! Every corner seems to hold a new treasure, with quaint boutiques bursting with whimsical dresses, delicate vintage finds, and sparkling crystal accessories! And of course, I always find time for a new pink tutu! A girl's got to maintain her signature style!

This evening, I shall don my new fuchsia creation for a lovely dinner. Imagine a charming rooftop restaurant, a gentle breeze, a sky dusted with twinkling stars, and me twirling, sipping a glass of chilled prosecco, with the magical cityscape of Prague shimmering below. Now that’s a life worth celebrating!

You know what? This isn't just a vacation for me, it's an opportunity! This city, this magical ballet experience, is feeding my creative soul. I’m already planning my next performance in the beautiful heart of this city, hoping to spread a little "pink tutu magic". I've even started planning a little ballet workshop for local girls who dream of pirouetting! This journey isn't just about enjoying beautiful things, it's about inspiring others. It’s about encouraging others to find their passion, their flair! Because you know what? Everyone can be a ballerina, everyone can wear a pink tutu, everyone can find their inner magic!
