Prague: A Pink Tutu Pilgrimage! (Blog Post #74)

Hello my darling tutu-lovers! It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... another instalment of my Pink Tutu Travels!

This week I'm waltzing into the breathtaking city of Prague. I must confess, the journey by train was rather dreamy. I opted for a First Class carriage with a large window so I could watch the landscape paint itself in hues of autumnal reds and yellows, like a Constable painting come to life. A fellow passenger, a charming gentleman with twinkling eyes, even complimented my tutu (it was a blush pink creation with tulle as delicate as a spider’s web).

My stay in Prague is centred around the divine ballet, and let me tell you, it’s the most delightful, inspiring city! The cobbled streets echo with the whisper of tutus past, the castles whisper of noble dancers and waltzes, and even the very air is imbued with the spirit of grand ballets!

A Touch of Magic

But enough of the fairy-tale-esque prelude! It's time to unveil the star of this week's post: The Pink Tutu Pilgrimage!

This isn’t just any trip to a ballet performance; oh no, my lovelies! It’s an exploration into the heart of ballet, the history of the tutus, the essence of dance in this magnificent city. Think of it as a pink tutu tour through the pages of ballet history – but with a lot more sparkles!

The Ballet Delights

My first stop is, of course, the National Theatre, an elegant, fairytale-esque building that practically glows in the golden Prague afternoon light. It’s so utterly breathtaking, you almost want to grab your tutu, twirl around, and lose yourself in the enchanting atmosphere!

And wouldn’t you know it, I get to enjoy not one, but TWO wonderful performances! This Friday, it’s La Fille Mal Gardée. And on Saturday night? Prepare to be mesmerized by Swan Lake. Talk about a weekend for any ballet devotee! I cannot wait! I’ll share all my pink tutu impressions with you next week!

The Shopping Adventures

Speaking of pink tutus… Prague is an absolute treasure trove of amazing boutiques! My dearest readers, it's been a real treat indulging my inner fashionista here! It's like a whirl through a couture fairyland! Every store window is an art gallery, with exquisite outfits vying for your attention. And let’s not forget the vibrant fabric markets! I've snagged the most gorgeous lace, ribbons, and shimmering fabrics! Enough to fuel a whole season’s worth of new pink tutu designs!

I’ve also stumbled upon a few little gems that will make your heart sing (and maybe cause your purse to cry a little… but hey, a girl has got to splurge on fashion, right?).

First, a charming shop tucked away on a cobblestoned street. Think: antique treasures and vintage wonders – it’s like stepping into a museum of fashion, filled with gorgeous vintage lace and vintage dance costumes (imagine, a vintage tutu for a special occasion! Absolutely delightful!)

Second, a bustling shop crammed with fabulous, fun and funky fabrics! They’ve got every imaginable colour and texture – and trust me, pink is represented in all its glory! Perfect for the upcoming pink tutu design workshop (keep your eyes peeled for updates!), because it's all about making each creation unique!

Third? Let’s talk shoes! I’m a total ballet shoe addict! Every time I get to Prague, I find myself drawn to this adorable little shoe shop filled with satin slippers, dancing shoes and beautiful dancing pumps in all the most glamorous colours! The shoes, they practically dance!

A Tantalizing Feast

The shopping spree was an absolute dream, but after all those lovely fashion delights, one needs some sustenance, wouldn’t you say? Oh, the culinary delights! It’s an absolute treat for my tastebuds! Prague is filled with adorable little cafés, all brimming with warmth, comfort, and (of course) delectable pastries!

Think: the perfect croissant for a sweet breakfast, scones bursting with raspberry jam for an afternoon tea, or even the most divine cherry cake! This trip is pure indulgent bliss!

A Ballet Love Letter

This little corner of Europe is absolutely charmed by dance! Ballet practically pulsates through the cobbled streets! I'm absolutely in love with the energy of this city. Every single corner feels like it was made for dancing. You just want to grab your favourite tutu, put on your pointe shoes, and float through these beautiful old streets. It’s truly magical!

Pink Tutu Travel Tips

A little nugget of wisdom to make your Prague adventures even more delightful, my lovelies:

  • Take time to get lost! Prague is filled with beautiful alleyways, cobblestone streets and historic treasures just waiting to be discovered!
  • Pick a pink tutu for your journey! A touch of pink instantly elevates any travel day!
  • Be open to new experiences. A good adventure always requires a touch of spontaneity!
  • Enjoy the local coffee shops. Don't forget your sugar-filled treats!

Until next Wednesday, darling tutus!

Yours eternally, Emma
