Pink Tutu Prague: Ballet, Bows, and Bohemian Beauty (Post #73)

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, and this week I'm waltzing into Prague with a suitcase overflowing with tulle and a heart full of anticipation!

You know me, I can't resist a new city, especially when it promises a dazzling blend of historical charm and vibrant culture. Prague is simply enchanting - think cobbled streets winding past colourful houses, enchanting castles perched on hills, and a captivating history whispering from every corner. This city is definitely giving me those fairytale vibes.

I’m absolutely buzzing with excitement for this week! There’s a particularly captivating ballet production on tonight at the National Theatre – can you guess? Twinkle twinkle, little star! Yep, it's none other than Tchaikovsky’s iconic Swan Lake. It’s truly one of the greatest ballets of all time! It’s simply beautiful. Just thinking about those graceful swan movements, the poignant music, and of course, those gorgeous tutus… it gives me shivers of pure joy. I might even wear a touch of pink myself – I’m considering a blush tulle ribbon tied into a cute bow in my hair!

But before we dive into all that, let's rewind a bit, shall we? My journey here was delightful, of course. I chose a whimsical route, travelling by train across Europe – how charming, wouldn't you say? It allowed me to bask in the scenery and let my mind wander while sketching some ballet-inspired outfits in my journal (a delightful habit I've developed over the years).

Speaking of fashion, Prague's style scene is positively captivating. I've been browsing the shops for the most charming trinkets and adorable little ballet-themed pieces – a blush pink silk scarf, a whimsical pearl necklace, and even a tiny porcelain ballerina that’s going straight to my tutu collection!

And then there's the food! Let's just say, I've been indulging in delicious pastries, creamy Czech beers, and even trying a few locally-sourced meals with delicate pink decorations, all washed down with copious amounts of rose tea – yum!

The architecture here is divine. We’re talking ornate gothic churches, breathtaking baroque buildings, and the stunning Charles Bridge - such picturesque views and the perfect backdrop for a series of pink tutu photographs, naturally!

But I can't talk about Prague without mentioning its historical ties to the world of ballet!

Did you know Prague's ballet tradition stretches back to the 17th century, when it became a favoured destination for visiting Italian dance troupes? The city’s national ballet theatre boasts a grand history, with the iconic “Prague Ballet” becoming world-renowned during the mid-20th century. Imagine - a city that breathes ballet, what a dream!

For you ballet history buffs, here’s a little extra something – Prague is home to the magical Strahov Library, an ornate 17th-century baroque structure holding a massive collection of old and rare manuscripts. Guess what they have in their collection? A trove of ballet dance books, costumes and even music scores – imagine the hours I spent mesmerized amidst those centuries-old manuscripts! My little ballerina heart almost burst!

This enchanting city really does offer something for everyone - from architectural wonders to vibrant street art, historic squares to delectable dining spots – Prague has captured my heart completely. It’s definitely making its way onto my “must visit again” list, and I'll be adding a couple of extra days on my trip to allow me to delve further into its enchanting history, explore the charming shops, and indulge in some of those delicate rose-petal desserts.

Don't forget to tune in next Wednesday for another dose of pink tutu magic, directly from the heart of this beautiful city! Until then, stay stylish, dance like nobody's watching, and remember, there's always room for a little pink in your life!

Yours in tulle and tiaras,

Emma www.pink-tutu.com
