Pink Tutu Prague: Adventures in Ballet & Beauty! (Blog Post #72)

Bonjour, darlings!

Itā€™s Emma here, back from another fabulous adventure, this time from the heart of Europe, the magnificent Prague! Just imagine it: cobblestone streets, enchanting castles, and the delicious scent of fresh pastriesā€¦ Ah, my heart flutters just thinking about it! This city is truly a feast for the senses, especially for a ballerina like me!

As usual, this weekā€™s post is dedicated to my favourite things: pink tutus, ballet, and the ultimate travel treat - seeing a ballet performance in a new city! You can find my blog every Wednesday at www.pink-tutu.com - and make sure you come back next week for my next adventure!

From Derbyshire to Prague by Train

I set off from my lovely Derbyshire home (the scenery is truly breathtaking, by the way!), and hopped aboard a delightful, quaint little train. Itā€™s no secret I adore trains. Thereā€™s just something so charming about gliding past verdant fields and picturesque villages, with the rhythm of the tracks guiding me towards a new adventure!

To make the journey extra special, I even treated myself to a bespoke tutu-themed picnic basket, filled with finger sandwiches, homemade scones, and the most delightful pink champagne. (You simply must have some bubbly when travelling by train, don't you think?) Of course, I wouldn't be caught dead without my pink tutu for the occasion. After all, one must always be ready to twirl at a momentā€™s notice!

A Night at the Opera House

Now, the highlight of my trip to Prague was, of course, attending a spectacular performance at the renowned National Theatre. Imagine it, darlings, a building steeped in history and artistic brilliance!

I've been dreaming about seeing the ballet here ever since I first discovered a photograph of a stunning ballerina performing in front of the illuminated theatre at night. I've always been obsessed with theatre performances, the artistry and beauty always captivate my senses. This time, it was ā€œGiselleā€ - the hauntingly beautiful tale of a peasant girl, a charming prince, and a wicked betrayal. It was so romantic!

Before the show, I spent an enchanting hour in the opulent foyer of the theatre, enjoying a delightful cup of tea while marvelling at the architecture, chandeliers, and the buzz of anticipation in the air. I even met the most charming gentleman - a fellow ballet enthusiast from Vienna. He was quite taken with my pink tutu!

Fashion in Prague: Tutus, Threads, and Treasures

Now, no trip is complete without indulging in a little retail therapy, right? I had the most wonderful time exploring Prague's quaint shops and vibrant markets. You know I'm obsessed with vintage, and Pragueā€™s antique shops are an absolute treasure trove! I snagged a breathtaking hand-painted antique porcelain ballerina doll. And oh my, wouldnā€™t you know it, I found a beautiful antique tutu (slightly more elaborate than what you usually see these days, so naturally itā€™s already finding a spot in my collection)!

As you know, my love for pink extends to everything from fashion to home decor! And believe me, darling, Prague did not disappoint! It was like a symphony of pink, with blush-toned cobblestone streets, candy-floss pink pastries, and even pink roses blooming in the park! I found the most divine pink vintage hat in a hidden boutique tucked away on a side street. Itā€™s almost like it was made for me!

Speaking of fashion, Iā€™ve recently been drawn to the new trends of balletcore and the cottagecore style, they feel fresh and dreamy! While exploring the cobbled lanes of Old Town Square, I discovered a little independent store brimming with whimsical outfits and whimsical jewellery perfect for balletcore outfits, and I found a fantastic cottagecore-style outfit perfect for taking walks around Prague, even picking out a charming wicker basket for a little extra flair. I found several dresses that would work as pretty tutu tops - although you'll always find me wearing my actual pink tutu as an outwear item of choice, of course!

The Joy of Dancing in the Square

Thereā€™s no better way to experience a new city than by immersing yourself in its cultural heart. I decided to spend an afternoon in Old Town Square, soaking in the atmosphere.

Prague is such a vibrant city with a rich artistic tradition. While admiring the clock tower and enjoying some delicious, delicate treats from the charming cafe, I spotted a group of dancers from a local ballet academy practicing their routine. Being unable to resist the call of my dancing shoes, I simply had to join in, swirling in my pink tutu as if I was part of the performance!

I might even have inspired some fellow travellers to twirl alongside me, showing them the pure joy of letting your spirit soar through the art of ballet!

My Pink Tutu Wish

I've often been asked why I love wearing my pink tutu so much. My answer is simple, darlings: it makes me happy. And it always reminds me that even on ordinary days, we can bring a little sparkle and joy into the world, no matter where we are! It's a symbol of hope, femininity, and the beautiful art of ballet! Plus, it makes a truly unforgettable statement!

My ultimate goal is to see the world awash in pink tutus, a ballet-infused world bursting with colour, joy, and, most importantly, confidence!

Join me on this pink tutu journey, my dear readers. Together, we can share the power of self-expression and the magic of ballet, making every day feel like a beautiful dance!

Stay tuned next week, my darlings, for another exciting adventure on my blog - www.pink-tutu.com. Iā€™ll be sharing my trip to a Parisian ballet company next week. What to wear? Naturally, Iā€™ll be wearing pink - it is the colour of true fashion and elegance!

Bisous! Emma
