Prague Perfection: A Tutu-licious Tale (Post #71)

Wednesday, September 4th, 1996

Dearest Tutu-Lovers,

Hello from the cobbled streets of Prague! I'm writing to you from a charming little café, nestled amidst the colourful buildings, and the air is buzzing with a sweet, cinnamon-y scent – probably the freshly baked pastries they're famous for here. Honestly, I could get used to this life!

This week's adventure is all about Prague, a city that has stolen my heart. Imagine: ancient architecture, cobblestone squares bursting with life, and a cultural richness that spills from every corner. I arrived here yesterday, via a romantic train journey, of course – what else could a girl in a pink tutu take?!

Prague is a city that breathes ballet. You can almost feel the graceful movement in the very air. From the beautiful baroque theatres to the lively open-air stages, ballet performances seem to be around every corner. Even the street performers here have a touch of ballet, with graceful movements and captivating stories woven into their dance routines. It's the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to twirl around with abandon and just feel the magic.

Speaking of magic, the biggest reason for my visit is the breathtaking performance I'm seeing tonight: The Pink Tutus of Prague, a special anniversary show featuring ballet classics performed by the National Ballet Theatre. You know how much I adore a classic ballet performance, and this promises to be an exquisite evening of elegance and passion.

But let’s not forget the important things – fashion, darlings! Prague is a haven for vintage lovers and stylish fashionistas. Today, I spent hours exploring the delightful shops and markets in Old Town, searching for treasures to add to my growing collection of ballet-inspired attire.

I snagged the most darling blush-coloured dress with a delicate lace bodice and a flowy skirt that practically begs you to twirl. Perfect for an evening of ballet, wouldn't you say?

I also discovered a small, independent shop overflowing with whimsical ballet accessories: tutus of all colours and sizes, glittering hair combs, sparkly ballet shoes… you name it! I think I spent the entire afternoon simply playing dress-up and giggling with the shopkeeper. Honestly, what’s better than a little retail therapy?

Later today, after a delicious lunch of traditional Czech dumplings and beer (no judging!), I'm taking a carriage ride through the city. You see, Prague's charm extends to every nook and cranny. The narrow, winding streets lined with vibrant buildings, the stunning bridges, the tranquil canals – it’s a true fairytale city. What better way to take it all in than from the comfort of a horse-drawn carriage, with the wind gently tugging at my pink tutu?

The real highlight of today was, without a doubt, attending a masterclass with a famous Czech ballerina, Natalia Kozlov. The studio, tucked away in a quiet courtyard, buzzed with anticipation as we all warmed up. As the class began, I felt the magic of ballet surge through my veins.

Natalia is a true legend, effortlessly guiding us through elegant movements and complex combinations. It was like a ballet dream come true!

Don’t worry, my tutu and I are getting some much-needed rest tonight. A proper night's sleep is crucial before tomorrow's grand performance!

I promise to share all the details, my dear readers, about The Pink Tutus of Prague tomorrow, including the incredible costumes and the spectacular dance routines. Oh, and don’t worry – you know I’ll be documenting my outfit with photos for your enjoyment.

So, grab a cup of tea, snuggle up with a good book, and join me in the magical world of Prague. See you all soon!

Lots of twirls, Emma xx
